Nitrobasher September 23rd, 2006, 01:45 PM So, I was at the track and i took a run and came back and noticed that my left turn signal wasnt working in back.
before i went down the track everything was working fine.
the dim lights still come on and every other signal and brake lamp work.
this is driving me up a wall. please someone help
95lscowner September 23rd, 2006, 01:49 PM when you put the signal on does th green arrow light up in the dash if not try putting the 4 way flasher's on see what it does... i had the same problem turned out to be the multi function switch just maybe that is the problem

my buddy was sayin somethign about the multi funtion switch, is it hard to replace? is it expensive?
67Continental September 23rd, 2006, 02:35 PM the bulb is burned, dude. It is a multifilament bulb. One of the filaments has burned. 99 percent of the time, when the arrow clicks on and off much faster, or comes on and just stays on, it is a burned bulb.
It is a good idea to always investigate the simplest solution first, so you can at least rule them out.

poniesviii September 24th, 2006, 03:34 AM No, the bulb isn't fine. It looks fine, but it can't be. Because either your bulb is burned, or your wire lost connection somewhere between your multi lever and the bulb. Which isn't likely, because if just your tail light works then the wiring is good.
If I'm wrong I'll mail you ten dollars to help with whatever the problem is. It has to be your bulb, man. Buy a new one, they're cheap.
If your blinker blinks faster it's a burned bulb. (or filiment within like the other dude's saying)
plymouth383 September 24th, 2006, 08:26 AM i have seen where a bulb looks fine but really isnt. for the price of them i would rather replace all the bulbs on the circuit before i start to replace something more major like the switch. in any case with a burnt bulb the blinker blinks faster due to less resistance on the circuit. so i agree it is the bulb or the wiring harness/connector for the bulb

1993_M75 September 25th, 2006, 09:36 PM The multi(mal)function switch is a common part to fail on Fords. I replaced one on my old '93 Marquis, and I need to replace the switch in my father's '97 Marquis. They tend to go bad around 100,000 miles, but this varies depending on the habits of the driver (if you never use your turn signals or wipers, the switch will last a LONG time).
Getting the connectors to release can be a pain but it is a relatively simple job on most fords.
You can get a new switch from rockauto (or the dealership if you like to waste money).
But please check to make sure that the old bulb is in fact good using a multiMeter to measure the resistance of the bulb before you go replacing parts all willy-nilly :D
