A few months ago I posted that my 2002 STS (that I'd had purchased a few months earlier) had what sounds like valve chatter (click,click or tick tick)
especially when engine is cold...I received some consoling words from a couple members but the noise is distracting---and other people have noticed my noisy engine...I took it back to the dealership a few months ago and they pronounced OK...
Would be interested to know what other STS owners have
experienced...

That noise is probabaly not valves but the lash adjusters, try using a thin oil like Mobil 1 full synthetic 5w-30 and see if it helps.
