LOL yeah I knew it was you. Notice the :shifty: . How many did you actually find? You might just try and make a post on here and sell them for a solid price, see if anyone is interested.
00_slow_5spd_ls September 8th, 2006, 10:00 PM im intrested, however, i have a 2000 ls v6 sport. would it fit. and how, does it just slide in?
00_slow_5spd_ls September 9th, 2006, 12:54 PM bump
beaups September 9th, 2006, 01:27 PM i think it fits lse kit only
mholhut September 9th, 2006, 11:54 PM Originally, a group of us at LLSOC chipped in and bought a sheet of the perforated plastic to make our own McLaren lower grilles. The pieces were rough cut the width of the sheet (48") and were aobut 6-8" tall. The guy who ended up buying the sheet and making the first template, traced the template out on the inside of the cardboard packaging.
This only applies to 2000-2002 LS's... I have no idea about '03+ models:
If you had a regular LS, the template (with some trimming) would fit against the existing lower grille and could be held secure with zip ties.
If you have an original 2002 LSE, you would have to cut it further to fit over the LSE's unique lower grille.
If you bought the LSE ground effects kit, there is now lower grille to attach it to, so the McLaren grille actually sits behind the bumper cover... I think.
I don't know if Jeremy cut his to fit or if it is the original size.
00_slow_5spd_ls September 10th, 2006, 03:56 PM ok, i wantr thisd, what do i needa do?
GrayGhost1 September 10th, 2006, 06:09 PM Those lower grilles are nothing more than gutter guards you can find at Wal-Mart. They are packed like 5 for $4.99. They come in black, green or white. I know this for a fact.

The admin removed my posts from last night.....anyone that wants to know how i got them feel free to email me...........
lseguy September 12th, 2006, 09:48 PM Interesting...I could have sworn Eleanor had a post in this thread two days ago letting everyone in here know that they could obtain the lower grille from Walmart. Perhaps the admin didnt want the cat let out of the bag??
SoonerLS September 12th, 2006, 10:17 PM I saw the messages before they got pulled, and I think it was more the tone than the content...
MistaMoeGod September 16th, 2006, 12:10 PM Oh Yeah??? Walmart? Someone Tell Me How This Is Done...and Im Off To Wally World :)

I'm still trying to figure out what I need to do and get from Wally World to make this happen..
pektel May 29th, 2008, 09:00 AM I wouldn't get the stuff from wally world. plus, iirc those pieces were only 36" wide. If you have a regular (non-LSE) lower bumper, you need a piece almost 39" wide.
I organized a group buy with 3 other members here to offset the price, since you can only buy the true matching piece in a 48"x96" sheet. I took it one step further than the LLSOC guys by specifying the correct way to cut the sheet so the rows run the same way as the mclaren upper grille.
I don't know if you can find other members to do the group buy with you, but I believe the total cost for the sheet, shearing, and shipping was between $250 and $300.
the company that sells the material is ametco.com
Oh, and holy dead thread revival!
