06 owners: LED interior lights?

06 owners: Does your LS have white LED interior lights? The 06 brochure (http://www.neillsandlerford.com/brochures/2006_LS_Catalog.pdf) states that it does (page 8, "Fine, white LED lighting illuminates the cabin"). Mine does not. The interior lights get hot after several seconds, and they have a 'warm' color, both of which indicate that they definitely are not LED. I don't care if they are or are not LED, but I don't like that the specs and the car differ, because it makes me wonder what other specs are not true.

This is a poll. You can respond that your 06 has LED interior lights or does not. If you don't know, or don't have an 06, don't respond to the poll. Feel free to discuss of course!

No. Oops. My mistake.

I think they wrote it about the instrument lights and the dash lights.

I think they wrote it about the instrument lights and the dash lights.

I don't think so, because the instrument cluster and dash lights are all green, but the brochure says "white LED". Furthermore, the actual displays on the radio, climate control, and dash are VFD (vacuum fluorescent display), not LED.

A quick check of the bulb list (page 101 in the manual) shows that only the center brake light and side marker lights are LEDs. All the interior bulbs appear to be regular incandescent lights, including the front map lights (906 bulb) and rear map lights (168 bulb).

I believe the LED lighting mentioned in the brochure is a carryover typo. My recollection is that as part of the 2003 upgrades, Lincoln wanted to use LED bulbs in the front and rear maplights, but for cost reasons, regular bulbs were used instead. I guess nobody informed the brochure people of the change.

Hi,
Just for the record, high brightness white LEDs do get quite warm in operation, and can be had in a warm white color. I'm talking about the 1 watt and 5 watt leds, not the little 20 mA ones in flashlights. (Some of my designs use these leds. ATMs, not cars.)
All that said, I have an 06 LS, and the interior lights are normal bulbs, and not LEDs.

I replaced my interior lights with LED's. Here is the source. The "white" light looks cool and the interior looks more crisp. Ford has LED bulbs in other vehicles and you can buy these lamps at Ford....but they'll be high in price.

OK, so we have firmly established that this mention of white LEDs in the brochure is an error.

Well, since the light does not come from LEDs, yes, the statement in the brochure is an error.

In other words, we have firmly established that this mention of white LEDs in the brochure is an error.

The white LED's are in the Aviator and Navigator for sure. Maybe they just assumed the LS had them.

I know I did. The first time I drove the LS (at night), I was like "WTF is this?!"
