I understand that 1997 thunderbird shocks will fit our cars - now, did all 97 thunderbirds come with IRS? Or do I have to specify something specific when I order?

DUH Thanks. Is there a difference in weight between the Thunderbird and the Mark VIII that would effect which shocks to use?

The Mark VIII IRS is lighter than the T-Bird.

The Mark VIII IRS is lighter than the T-Bird.
That's why T-Bird guys like Mark VIII rear control arms.

Make sure you get shocks for 97 base model not sport edition because most sport edition used super coupe shocks.

So we can't use SC shocks? What are the best performance shocks we can get then?

I've got 97 T-Bird shocks on my Mark VIII. Monroe Sensa Tracs. I converted to non-air ride with a 1.5 inch drop. it rides and handles great.
