i recently moved from georgia to arizona. The tune that is in my car right now, i am having a lot of problems with , spark knocking....does anyone know a shop near phoenix that dyno tunes??? The only time it spark knocks is just off of idle when i pat the gas.. in georgia the highest octane was 93 and here in arizona it is 91... i dont know if it is the octane doing it, bad gas or the heat.. I've tried adjusting the xcal2 with the timing and still can not get it right. if someone could help me with a name/ number.. I've been out here for about 3 weeks and have ran 5 tanks. could i have gotten a bad tank of gas???

Welcome to Phoenix, AZ! Home of stupid high ambient temps, crappy octane and gas mixtures (EPA). I had been reffered to; www.arizonadynochip.com. Very highly recommended. Yes, I would agree that you need a new tune. Its the high heat and fuel issues.

Without a doubt, the finest performance shop in the valley is SVC Performance in Scottsdale. Their list of tuned cars is long and distinguished. They are capable of tuning with both SCT and Diablo software. They use a Mustang dyno that isn't played with...it gives out true loaded numbers. I wouldn't hesitate to give Rob and Dean a call.

By the way...if you are suffering from detonation, pull the tune out of your car for now and put the stock tune in it until you can have it checked. Although the gas is only 91 octane here...your car should be able to run on it. Rob tuned my Cobra and it never detonates...but runs like a raped ape. Cars can be made to run on this swill here. It's not the octane that hurts you...it's all the other crap they put in the gas and make us run here.
