Brake Pedal Sounds Funny

Okay, I didn't find anything exactly like this searching, but when I push on the brake pedal, you can hear it. It's hard to explain, but it kind of sounds and feels like you are stretching rubber or something. The brakes feel perfectly fine, but there is just a strange squishy noise. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

mine does that too. i also have a problem if i'm braking and i hit a bump it feels like it vibrates. i'll be braking and then if i hit a bump going at a pretty good speed it feels like it slips and catches.

My pickup does that, I think it has something to do with the ABS, I have a recall on it, I just haven't taken it in.

I have no idea what the deal is with the brake noise/feel though, it's very strange.

Mine doesn't click, it's more of a rubbing or squishy sound. It doesn't feel any different, it just sounds strange, it's like it's rubbing on some rubber or something. It feels like it's totally in the pedal too, it doesn't feel mechanical, but who knows, pretty frustrating.

I'm glad someone else posted about this. I have noticed it too but never really thought much about it to post a comment. Its coming from inside the cabin right at the pedal. Must be some type of rubber bushing or something. But definately a rubbery type sound. It doesnt affect the braking at all, just makes a creaking sound. One of those things. I also have a light bulb under the dash right about where your left knee is that vibrated within its socket when going over bumps. Its as tight as it can get, but still makes a little rattle sound. Oh well.

I have exactly the same thing, especially, it seems, at low speeds. It's almost like I have squeaky shoes on. Doesn't feel mechanical at all, just sort of "cosmetic" if that makes sense. It's strictly in the cabin, at the pedal itself,

Well here we go. I think its obvious from the picture where the noise os coming from, you can clearly see the rubber boot/bushing that goes thru the firewall. Another great thing while i had my head under the dash, i got rid of the bulb rattle. Yea!!!!

My LS was doing the exact same thing. When I brought it to Linclion, they told me it was a master cylnder and fixed it.

Master Cylinder.

Alot of Ford products seem to be doing this. Its actually the seals on the pistons inside the master cylnder.

First one threw me (it was on a lincoln navigator) I replaced the brake booster and well, it didnt fix it. New master cylinder did.

So is this something that will affect braking or just be noisy? Its barely noticable.

Ditto, anyone know if this could potentially be dangerous, or just annoying?
