My 1994 does not have the JBL system. What is the base system and does it have the amp like the JBL system.

Next..

Driver's side door speaker is not as loud as the passengers side door speaker, rear speakers have no problem.

What would cause the front driver's side speaker to not have complete sound?

i believe it has an amp. at least my base system 95 did. speaker problem could be, on its way out, bad connection, or just not adjusted properly.

Hope you dont have the integrated phone. In my case with my old 95 the phone module in the amp went - caused all kinds of weird issues - starting with pass door speaker (not the tweeter) to slowly fade away (every once n awhile it would be normal). The car was under warranty (used car warranty -boy they hated me!!!) and it took Lincoln 3 months to get the correct amp - I guess it is way different than the regular amp (I had the stock stereo system - not the upgraded JBL). BTW Lincoln wanted to bill be $2,500 for the service, stating I over used the phone - huh, WTF. Needless to say The DSM was contacted and they covered it, not too mention free oil changes for two years cause I didn't have a radio or phone for over 90 days.

Sorry I dont recall what brand the stereo was, still want to say JBL though.

I don't have the phone module in the 94 but it's in both the 93 and the 95.

I noticed that the wire harness that connects comes from the car is broken. I don't get any change when I wiggle it. So I'm thinking that all connections are still good. It's only the plastic of the plug that's broken, no broken wires.

It could be connection I'll look into it. I'm looking for a new in-dash unit. (new meaning one I haven't owned. LOL )... I'll see what magic I can work on eBay.

if you do go with an incdash, i highly recommend running all new wiring to each speaker and bypassing the amp, instead of buying a cable that plugs into the stock wiring. im 98% sure the head unit isnt the problem.

Found the culprit the plug coming from the car to the radio housing the speaker wires was broken. I bonded it back together and it's working great...
