Man..a steamroller has a more comfortable ride. lol mikedeezy123 August 14th, 2006, 09:26 PM That is AWESOME.....NIce choice, did you install yourself? Thanks! Had it installed at www.streetsoundplus.com If you look under custom installs, you will see my old custom 7" touchscreen i had before this one. mikedeezy123 August 14th, 2006, 09:28 PM WOW... That's a big sucker! So where is the head unit and controls located? Inquiring minds want to know. Dvd is in glove box. Main head unit is the new alpine vehicle hub pro vpa-b222. Its basically a brain with all kinds of inputs and outputs that you hide and control by a remote. the remotes next to the shifter in the second pic. mikedeezy123 August 14th, 2006, 09:31 PM btw how do you like those white gauges? were they hard to install? Love em, takes about 2.5 hours to do but not to hard. kens got the instructions. mikedeezy123 August 14th, 2006, 09:32 PM oh yea.. and how is it going with the lowering springs on 20`s.. did you install a camber kit or anything? and how is the tire wear. no camber kit and i needs new tires. mikedeezy123 August 14th, 2006, 09:33 PM did u have to sacrifice your heated seats? looks good tho thats a big ass tv lmao no heated seats in my ride, thats the only option it didnt come with. mikedeezy123 August 14th, 2006, 09:33 PM Lowered AND on 20's? Man..a steamroller has a more comfortable ride. lol probably. itsnotmydaddys August 14th, 2006, 09:50 PM how much, whats the tv unit jumpman6235 August 14th, 2006, 10:05 PM NICE!!... Also how come some of u have that cig holder, some have the ashray.. is that cig holder aftermarket? mikedeezy123 August 15th, 2006, 01:31 AM the ashtray was taken out and the lighter was moved there so i guess its kinda custom. They had to do that cuz the ac controls had to be shaven shorter and moved down to make room for the monitor. the monitor is actually a roofmount flipdown monitor that you would usually see like in a suv. my boy just took it apart, took out the lcd, got rid of the shell, fabbed up what u see, mounted and BAM!@! :D J3FF August 15th, 2006, 01:38 AM What a monster!!! Looks tight as hell though. HyeLifeLS August 15th, 2006, 03:19 AM Hey man, now you are like the Mad Mike from Pimp My Ride! That TV is sick!! Very nice job, but hey man get that damn glove box door adjusted like I told you the last time. We should through another Cali meet to show everybody that Cali iz active. 01lssport August 15th, 2006, 04:29 AM Hey man, now you are like the Mad Mike from Pimp My Ride! That TV is sick!! Very nice job, but hey man get that damn glove box door adjusted like I told you the last time. We should through another Cali meet to show everybody that Cali iz active. He's got that BIG ass screen in the dash and your still checking to see if he fixed the glove box, LOL. 00_slow_5spd_ls August 15th, 2006, 07:23 AM doe sekn still have those gauges for sale? if so how much, and are they the same ones on ebay? Fla02LS August 15th, 2006, 11:31 AM Totally not my style. I dont know about you but when i drive i am looking at the road not at my console. Maybe its there for passengers. I have never quite understood the whole tv in your car thing, probably to impress others. I have a 3 yr old and i still dont sweat having a tv for him. One less thing to have to mess around with. I also wouldnt want to have to operate via a remote. I like being able to directly mute the volume, change stations, tracks, etc. I will however compliment the design and fabrication. From the pictures it looks like its seemless from the vent surround down to the a/c controls. How did they blend in the factory plastic with the new piece? jumpman6235 August 15th, 2006, 11:37 AM im assuming they sealed it with bondo, then repainted it? .. i must admit, when i had a touchscreen in my other car, it was distracting as fu<k.. but it did impress a lot of ppl and passengers loved it, and its nice to have when ur waiting in ur car for something mikedeezy123 August 15th, 2006, 03:07 PM doe sekn still have those gauges for sale? if so how much, and are they the same ones on ebay? got em on ebay. mikedeezy123 August 15th, 2006, 03:11 PM Hey man, now you are like the Mad Mike from Pimp My Ride! That TV is sick!! Very nice job, but hey man get that damn glove box door adjusted like I told you the last time. We should through another Cali meet to show everybody that Cali iz active. yo Artur i tried to that glove box trick, but i forgot how to do it. you might have to show me at our next meet!!! HyeLifeLS August 15th, 2006, 03:39 PM Mike, here: http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=16565&highlight=glovebox mikedeezy123 August 16th, 2006, 10:41 PM Mike, here: http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=16565&highlight=glovebox yo so after takin the rubber things off, then what do i do? still confused... HyeLifeLS August 17th, 2006, 01:14 AM You gotta adjust the lock, the one on the dash board, not the one on the door. There are couple of bolts you need to loosen up and move the lock a little bit up and then tighten em up. That works really well. Try. BatMobile August 17th, 2006, 01:42 AM Looks nice! BanginLS August 17th, 2006, 01:48 PM that alpine vehicle hub pro vpa-b222.. does that owrk with ANY TV? mikedeezy123 August 17th, 2006, 11:36 PM that alpine vehicle hub pro vpa-b222.. does that owrk with ANY TV? yessir.... It has every input and output available. mikedeezy123 August 17th, 2006, 11:37 PM You gotta adjust the lock, the one on the dash board, not the one on the door. There are couple of bolts you need to loosen up and move the lock a little bit up and then tighten em up. That works really well. Try. Ok got cha...i will give it a shot on sat. I wil let you know, thanks Artur!! BanginLS August 18th, 2006, 10:37 AM i was told that the alpine only works with alphine.. whats good with that? mikedeezy123 August 20th, 2006, 02:56 PM i was told that the alpine only works with alphine.. whats good with that? Well the hub is connected to an XOvision flip down monitor so i guess it works with other monitors and its hooked up to a Bravo dvd player. It works with other brands but the only thing that sucks is the multiple remotes. BanginLS August 21st, 2006, 12:00 PM u need to use a diff. remote for each thing? the DVD player.. the radio.. the HUB.. the flip down? u use like 4 controllers? mikedeezy123 August 22nd, 2006, 01:17 AM u need to use a diff. remote for each thing? the DVD player.. the radio.. the HUB.. the flip down? u use like 4 controllers? The dvd/cd player has a remote i use, the hub which is the radio has that remote u see on the second pic by the shifter(it works like the bmw knob like thing they have in the center console to control the radio) the monitor has a remote but i dont need to use it bcus it comes on automatically when cars tuned on. If i get an apline dvd player i can get rid of the bravo remote and control it form the hub remote. Hope that makes sense.....i am kinda tired and out of it right now.:p BanginLS August 22nd, 2006, 11:51 AM i get u.. right now i got the kenwood 6.5 inch so im not gonna go crazy for 3.5 inches.. i think ima finish my current projects and maybe get something done with this.. nice work though mikedeezy123 August 22nd, 2006, 09:46 PM i get u.. right now i got the kenwood 6.5 inch so im not gonna go crazy for 3.5 inches.. i think ima finish my current projects and maybe get something done with this.. nice work though yeah i had a 7 inch b4 but it burned out so I had a chance to upgrade. BanginLS August 23rd, 2006, 10:44 AM i want a 10 inch but i dont know where to put it..e veryone has it off the roof..i was thinking of putting one in the trunk with a camera so when ppl walk by they see themselves like at the mall... that would be crazy.. any ideas? i rather have the 10 inside the car but it doesnt have much room decibels5 August 23rd, 2006, 11:39 AM i want a 10 inch but i dont know where to put it..e veryone has it off the roof..i was thinking of putting one in the trunk with a camera so when ppl walk by they see themselves like at the mall... that would be crazy.. any ideas? i rather have the 10 inside the car but it doesnt have much room i have started my new enclosure with the same idea, already built new box and i am starting on the trim pieces, i won a camera on ebay, but i dont know how good the quality is yet. i will post some pics as soon as i get my camera back. i know it will look alot better than what i have right now, should be done in a couple weeks, that is my goal, because the shows will be starting up again. if anyone knows of a good quality camera let me know, i may buy a different one if this one doesnt work out. BanginLS August 23rd, 2006, 12:16 PM post pics when its done.. i was gonna put a 15 inch tv on the top deck lid before but now i really dont know.. any ideas? decibels5 August 23rd, 2006, 12:54 PM i thought of two different ways, 1st was like what you said, a flip down from the trunk lid, but then i was trying to figure out where to put the camera and a good place would need to be eye level when the trunk is open so i decided to put a swivel type camera on the lid instead and the tv right in front on the bottom trim piece. BanginLS August 24th, 2006, 12:22 PM u misunderstood me.. i dont want a picture camera.. i was going to fiber glass a TV into the trunk so when it was raised u can see it.. then hide a reverse camera prolly on the bumper and have that TV have two inputs.. my tv and the R. camera.. when u walk by u show up on the TV.. decibels5 August 24th, 2006, 03:16 PM u misunderstood me.. i dont want a picture camera.. i was going to fiber glass a TV into the trunk so when it was raised u can see it.. then hide a reverse camera prolly on the bumper and have that TV have two inputs.. my tv and the R. camera.. when u walk by u show up on the TV.. u lost me on the first line,:shifty: but i probably wont be using fiberglass, for what i want in fiberglass, i was quoted 3000 and an extra five hundred if i want it ported in the back dash. i can do wood, just not fiberglass. the camera i am talking about is a backup camera, its just there is one that has a mounting swivel to it. i plan on putting it on the underside of the lid, so when people walk up to look, (and everyone does) the camera will be right in their face. the tv will be right in front on bottom so they will just see their face in aww. ok maybe a little exaggeration:) i have a friend that works at daddyos car audio, he said he is going to let me use their badass table saw, so im hoping its going to look good. decibels5 August 30th, 2006, 02:45 PM got my camera in the mail today, i must say, i cant complain for 11.00. it is about the same quality as the ones that sell for 39.99 to 59.99. and it actually almost matches the color of my car so it will fit right in. now is just to find the location i positively want it in. progress on the new enclosure. have all my cardboard cutouts ready and the box is finished, probably will buy material this weekend and set up a day to use my friends shop. mikedeezy123 March 16th, 2007, 09:36 PM Since I see alot of new young heads... I figured I would bump this thread for them to get ideas of something a lil different and maybe spark some new projects. Good luck! LS_KiNG March 17th, 2007, 03:01 AM WOW thats somee nice sh*t...nice install Macoffutt March 17th, 2007, 09:20 AM holy f*ck.. how much was that custom job? mikedeezy123 March 17th, 2007, 01:52 PM I couldnt tell you how much because I got a discount on the install because its one of my boys shops. Macoffutt March 17th, 2007, 03:03 PM I figured as much. Pretty sweet set up mikedeezy123 March 18th, 2007, 08:38 PM Thanks! | ||||
