Dvd is in glove box.

Main head unit is the new alpine vehicle hub pro vpa-b222.

Its basically a brain with all kinds of inputs and outputs that you hide and control by a remote. the remotes next to the shifter in the second pic.

btw how do you like those white gauges? were they hard to install?

the ashtray was taken out and the lighter was moved there so i guess its kinda custom. They had to do that cuz the ac controls had to be shaven shorter and moved down to make room for the monitor.

the monitor is actually a roofmount flipdown monitor that you would usually see like in a suv. my boy just took it apart, took out the lcd, got rid of the shell, fabbed up what u see, mounted and BAM!@! :D

Totally not my style. I dont know about you but when i drive i am looking at the road not at my console. Maybe its there for passengers. I have never quite understood the whole tv in your car thing, probably to impress others. I have a 3 yr old and i still dont sweat having a tv for him. One less thing to have to mess around with. I also wouldnt want to have to operate via a remote. I like being able to directly mute the volume, change stations, tracks, etc. I will however compliment the design and fabrication. From the pictures it looks like its seemless from the vent surround down to the a/c controls. How did they blend in the factory plastic with the new piece?

im assuming they sealed it with bondo, then repainted it? .. i must admit, when i had a touchscreen in my other car, it was distracting as fu<k.. but it did impress a lot of ppl and passengers loved it, and its nice to have when ur waiting in ur car for something

You gotta adjust the lock, the one on the dash board, not the one on the door. There are couple of bolts you need to loosen up and move the lock a little bit up and then tighten em up. That works really well. Try.

It has every input and output available.

Well the hub is connected to an XOvision flip down monitor so i guess it works with other monitors and its hooked up to a Bravo dvd player. It works with other brands but the only thing that sucks is the multiple remotes.

u need to use a diff. remote for each thing? the DVD player.. the radio.. the HUB.. the flip down? u use like 4 controllers?

The dvd/cd player has a remote i use, the hub which is the radio has that remote u see on the second pic by the shifter(it works like the bmw knob like thing they have in the center console to control the radio) the monitor has a remote but i dont need to use it bcus it comes on automatically when cars tuned on.

If i get an apline dvd player i can get rid of the bravo remote and control it form the hub remote.

Hope that makes sense.....i am kinda tired and out of it right now.:p

yeah i had a 7 inch b4 but it burned out so I had a chance to upgrade.

i want a 10 inch but i dont know where to put it..e veryone has it off the roof..i was thinking of putting one in the trunk with a camera so when ppl walk by they see themselves like at the mall... that would be crazy.. any ideas? i rather have the 10 inside the car but it doesnt have much room

i have started my new enclosure with the same idea, already built new box and i am starting on the trim pieces, i won a camera on ebay, but i dont know how good the quality is yet. i will post some pics as soon as i get my camera back. i know it will look alot better than what i have right now, should be done in a couple weeks, that is my goal, because the shows will be starting up again. if anyone knows of a good quality camera let me know, i may buy a different one if this one doesnt work out.

i thought of two different ways, 1st was like what you said, a flip down from the trunk lid, but then i was trying to figure out where to put the camera and a good place would need to be eye level when the trunk is open so i decided to put a swivel type camera on the lid instead and the tv right in front on the bottom trim piece.

u lost me on the first line,:shifty: but i probably wont be using fiberglass, for what i want in fiberglass, i was quoted 3000 and an extra five hundred if i want it ported in the back dash. i can do wood, just not fiberglass. the camera i am talking about is a backup camera, its just there is one that has a mounting swivel to it. i plan on putting it on the underside of the lid, so when people walk up to look, (and everyone does) the camera will be right in their face. the tv will be right in front on bottom so they will just see their face in aww. ok maybe a little exaggeration:) i have a friend that works at daddyos car audio, he said he is going to let me use their badass table saw, so im hoping its going to look good.

got my camera in the mail today, i must say, i cant complain for 11.00. it is about the same quality as the ones that sell for 39.99 to 59.99. and it actually almost matches the color of my car so it will fit right in. now is just to find the location i positively want it in. progress on the new enclosure. have all my cardboard cutouts ready and the box is finished, probably will buy material this weekend and set up a day to use my friends shop.

Since I see alot of new young heads... I figured I would bump this thread for them to get ideas of something a lil different and maybe spark some new projects. Good luck!
