I just installed a new exhaust in my 93 STS. It looks all tight and all, but it is still kind of loud. Kind of like my 83 mustang GT. Is that normal? Does this car have a tuned exhaust. Someone else said it sounded like an Impala SS.
The kids love the sound though

You installed a new stock exhaust? Yeah, the 93-95 northstars are a bit loud (they made the exhaust a bit quieter from 96+ if I got the year right. Anyway I don't think it sounds like an Impala SS, since that's a larger displacement pushrod motor.

No. A 4.6 DOHC does not sound like a pushrod 5.7. Sorry.

there was only a cat and then the long pipe, followed by the h or y pipe to the mufflers.

Well not having a resonator will make it a bit louder...
CadillacETC1997 you're right, a northstar with an exhaust to me at least sounds better than most SBCs.

I don't want to question, but are you sure this has a resonator? Can anybody send my the schematics of the exhaust system? Everything I have looked at does not show that.
thanks
