Mufflers and tips fitment

Whats up guys... haven't been here in a while. Trying to save money so I thought it would be best to stay away from the forums. Every time I come here I wanna mod my car more.

I have a custom 2.5" catback that I never liked. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be replacing the entire thing but keeping the X-pipe. I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations for two low cost mufflers and some good looking tips to go with it. I'm going to order the parts myself and I need help figuring out the size and shape of everything. For example, if I get an oval muffler, do the ports need to be offset? Mufflers come in different lengths, how long should they be?

Goals: power, exotic sound, and the least drone as possible.

I would go with LMS but I'm trying not to spend a lot of money. I'd probably be fine with some Dynomax Bullets or something like that. I just wanted to hear it from you guys first. Any help is appreciated.

These are the tips I like. They look expensive. Are they too long? I don't care much for the length, I just like how it's cut at the end. "round, non-rolled edge, slant cut"

You really need to go see Nick and get this taken care of once and for all. My vote is Magnaflows. They sounded awesome on Nick's old Gen I.

Damn, I was hoping no one would remember my previous posts, hehe. What model Magnaflows? Does Nick stock parts? I could probably buy them cheaper online... :cheapjew:

I know that dynomax ultra flows sound good. Im not sure what magnaflows sound like rear mount, but i think they would sound pretty good. I mean, they're magnaflows.... they should.

LOL

All he has access to is the pipe to bend up the exhaust. The mufflers you'd have to provide. I don't remember which Magnaflows he had, but he did have the 2 into 2 (I think, or 1 into 2) muffler they make and put it where the resonator was. Then he had two Magnaflows out back by the bumper. Get a hold of him and see what he has to say. The shop is in Northern, NJ, which would be a hike for you, but he does awesome work. I believe he's doing polished stainless tails on BMNLSC's car today.

I have the Ultra Flows on my '87, and while it's a different motor, they are loud when you get on it (with no emissions equipment).

They're each a different sound, but if I didn't get those mufflers as cheap as I did, I woulda went with Magnaflows. They just sound THAT good. You've heard Bill's (BMNLSC) car at all with them? Again, different motor, I know, but it would give you some sort of an idea.

Dynomax Bullets all the way... about $35 bucks each and they sound pretty deep, similar to the oval Ultraflows (just not stainless steel).

I think I met him when I met you in that LIRR parking lot, Belmar or something? Sunset Highway? He had the red VII with the supercharger right? It's hard to tell how it will sound when you have two different engines...
