Ok. i put my car in the shop to get a trans flush... well when i go to get the car back the front is slammed... isnt it true that if the air ride isnt turned off that the bags will be destroyed when its lifted? is thsi common? also is the shop responsible... when i try to tell them this they started talkin me in circles... saying they disconnected the battery, i said ok and look and saw that all my radio presets are still on and the time was still set...any input thanks

can you hear the pump turn on? check the switch in the truck and make sure the compressor is still on

I don't think the bags would get destroyed from forgetting to shut the switch off. I have done it before, and all that happened was that the car let all the air out, from the sensors thinking the car was too high.
I am wondering if maybe your bags are on their way out, and having the car on the lift with the wheels hanging made them leak (worse).
Anyways...check out the site that pepperman posted, there is a section about diagnosing leaks, and alot of information on how the system works.

Good luck.

You wouldn't believe how many mechanics out there don't know you can turn off the air ride. If I know my car is going to be lifted I watch until I see what they are doing then yell hey turn off the air ride... it will make it much easier.

Similar issue with a tire company - I even told the manager to make sue they t/off the air ride - nope, get the car back and it was slammed - down on all fours the next am. The Managed denied that I was even in the shop - hello I have the copy with your signature on it (dumba$$) he swore they tuned it off, blah blah blah.

Bottom line is they blew out the lines, not the bags. The manager ended up fired and the parent company paid for everything.

i dont understand how this could damage air ride components... it will only drop the car because it "thinks" its too high.
