Ok well ive been reading a few articles and threads online. And it seems like some mustang fellas are using the teskid block with cobra upper end and they throw a forged lower end in. Question is.... When I get my cobra motor should I just swap all the stock 03' internals into my block or just stick with the iron block?

your block would be much lighter.

Stick with the Cobra block. Why pull it all apart? Just more to go wrong putting it back together. Teksid blocks are worth alot of coin now and going up.

you mean an intake specifically for our heads? do you think any companies are working on that?

My buddy bought it for 500 bucks and now he's thinking about scrapping the car.

I do know they have some cad work done on it. And that it might feature 'twin sets' of injectors.:eek: That will make them the 2nd second of twin injector imrc's deleted to come out.:cool:

Our heads flow great when ported. If this intake actually hits the market, watch out, there will be some fast, fast 4Vers running around with aluminum blocks and heads and sporting 800-1000 rwhp and will drive like Miss Daisy around town.:D

aluminum block that came in all mark viii's. Its named after the factory in which they were manufactured.

I beleive that the 96-98's were, but they switched to cast iron on 99+ cobras. I Know that all cobras came with forged cranks... as for the other components... I am not sure of..

nope, only 30-04 cobras got the iron block. 99=02 got aluminum blocks, just cast at a different foundry, with different castings.

This remains the strongest 4.6 DOHC block available. according to Hyland, these blocks received special treatment. They were cast in SAE 319-modified aluminum alloy, heat treated, and aged for strength.

Beginning in 1999, the Windsor Aluminum Plant (WAP) entered the production picture, producing the 32-valve (DOHC) blocks. Ford beefed up the 4.6 DOHC block, giving it extra ribbing for both strength and quiet operation. The pan rail was also thicker for both strength and reduced noise and vibration. Although the extra ribbing may look impressive, it's there because there is less aluminum in the casting. Keep in mind, this doesn't always make it a better block.
