ok I cleared my inbox.....I was told that some dealerships(sct dealers) dont charge, mine doesnt, but I also bought it from them so....I also spoke to someone at (i think) team ford and he wanted 75 dollars for two tunes...(emailed to your email account).....So I hope this helps....I have a v6 with a good tune (no knocking no problems...) so let me know....

Wait a minute Silver...are you keeping the tune in your car that you loaded from this thing? You're not pulling the tune and putting the stock tune back in your car? Doesn't that leave the tool "married" to your car and useless to anyone else other than a scan tool?

The reason I ask is I know for a fact the Predator is that way. I'm not that familiar with this unit...but I would assume it's something like that.

Silver...you are one stand up guy here...nobody would EVER accuse you of intentionally doing something like that. But I've seen more than one Predator sold on my Cobra site where it wasn't unmarried. The guys selling it just didn't know they had to do that!

no he can't play w/it. it doesn't work that way. it will only work for your VIN IIRC

Yeah its locked to a strategy code, not just V-8 or V-6.

I have the XCal II from my LSV8 with Torrie's 3 tunes. I am thinking about selling mine but I am a little unclear on how this would work if I wanted to flash my car back to stock, and then sell the unit with the three tunes. Is this possible? How do I "unlock" my VIN from the unit and still keep the three tunes that came with the device?

no the tunes would only work for your car or MAYBE another car with the exact same strategy code (slim odds there). but the buyer would be able to purchase new tunes based on their car.
