Same here. I didn't spend anywhere near what JC spent, but I am also in need of bulbs ASAP. I can't wait for any eBay crap that is used as has no warranty.
Joeychgo July 20th, 2006, 02:17 AM It isnt Five Star Ford's fault. This is nation wide. The company that makes the bulbs had some major problems and the bulbs are not available anywhere.
HOWEVER... Maxx told me a few weeks ago that they bulbs should be available again mid-late August.

I realize it's a nationwide problem, and no one is blaming it on a parts supplier such as Five-Star; but you figure that headlights/ bulbs would enter into some kind of DOT "required safety" category and someone from Ford would step in to prevent themselves from getting any fines, lawsuits, or any of that BS. It's frustrating because I could be stopped and fined or impounded for safety violations for driving around with one light. They should have a plentiful supply at all times!
I wonder why in hell Ford would burn its loyal Lincoln owners in that way. We paid more for our vehicles than Ford, Merc, Volvo, or Mazda owners did. No wonder Lexus' stock is rising.
My next car will not be a Ford product, I'll tell ya' that!
JC1994 July 20th, 2006, 06:01 PM I realize it's not 5 stars problem, but they should be able to put some pressure on ford to get these bulbs back in stock. what if you couldn't get windshield wipers or an oil filter???

I know, I know. From what I understand, one of the machines that makes the bulbs went down and has to be rebuilt from scratch. You guys know those things happen, and take forever to fix. Not to mention, are to expensive to have extra whole machines lying around.
JC1994 July 20th, 2006, 09:21 PM as long as they get them back in stock that's fine. but if they don't there needs to be a class action lawsuit filed against Ford for this whole headlight issue. I already feel like they should buy all Gen 1 Mark owners HID's.

Aye!
JC1994 July 21st, 2006, 05:27 AM even though mine are not burned out, I still want a pair or two to have around just in case this crap happens again or they quit making them alltogether.
98LSC32V August 11th, 2006, 09:24 PM It's mid August, any updates??
JC1994 August 13th, 2006, 07:43 PM Well???? let's hear it, are they available yet??? come on 5 star you sold me these HID's and gladly took my money probably knowing full well that this was going to happen.
Calabrio August 13th, 2006, 07:47 PM As of 8/10, when I last spoke with Max, they were hoping they would be available by the end of August or the beginning of September.

Frat-man-du August 24th, 2006, 07:23 AM I called a distant Lincoln dealer (local sold out to friggin Nissan) and they said early fall, and they have 3 orders already.
Russo August 24th, 2006, 07:43 AM FYI, they are available now.

mrzeee August 25th, 2006, 04:58 PM OK OK
Here is the straight deal..........
The current price for a new bulb is (before the sept increase????) $256.37 retail and LVC cost would be $184.58 IF they were available. Those in stock now (approx 50 at ford) are for EMERGENCY orders only!! and ford charges 15% plus freight to discourage hoarding, if I want one. The other guys want $229.00 for them and if you gotta have it you gotta have it. Ford is still saying in the next 2-3 weeks we will have them. There 448 in transit to the stocking depots and will be distributed to stock orders when recd.
I have a couple dozen on order and will announce the current price when they are here for sale.

mrzeee September 22nd, 2006, 12:24 PM Still no release date. I did get one for a customer as an emergency, they have small qty's in the depot, and it cost 40.00 extra ( that is what ford charged me)

mrzeee November 1st, 2006, 10:20 AM Hi Guys

Max
98LSC32V January 7th, 2007, 08:58 PM ttt, it's 2007 and we need HID's!
GrayGhost1 January 7th, 2007, 10:14 PM Max,
You might wanna do a dealer search. I know I found 4 of the HID bulbs from different dealers that had them in stock. However, the issue of dealer markup in trying to get them at cost is another question. The last price I found was $250 per bulb.
mrzeee January 9th, 2007, 12:56 PM As mentioned in other posts ford has pushed back the bulbs again until 3/30/07. There are a few still out there but like you said, it will be at a price you may not like or can afford considering the alternatives now available.
