Will rear t-bird springs work in the rear of our cars with no problems?

Nope. You would need to get spring adapters at a minimum.

Are the springs that come in the conversion kits the same as the T-Bird springs?

So, would it be possible for me to fabricate some of my own spring adapters?

This is what I am wondering. If you look at some of the conversion kits, it looks like the top mount is a flat piece of metal with the corners bent over, and a stud to position it. If the T-Bird springs are the same, it should be easy to make.
