hi everyone i have a 93 conti and been having the oild drop/dcl and some ruff idle problem. also random check engine and beeps lol. the mechanic told me i needed a new maf and the ecm is going out. i read alot here and it may just be a problem with them. or is it indeed going out. it its spitting out all these codes but drives just fine besides the gallop sometime at idle supposidly a maf problem. also he said its hard to find a ecm for this vhicle i callled the dealer and they told me its no longer made so i have to get it aftermarket any ideas or recommandations for where to get it and how hard is it to install. also the mechanic said it needed to be reprogramed once installed is that true please help me out.

93 signature serious 3.8 v6 with 132k on it. i already had a tune up and some a vaccum leak fixed.
thank you and i look forward to hearing from you all

ok, the check dcl/oil pressure drop is an instrumentation problem most of the time (99%). either bad connections onthe connectors in the back of it, or bad connections inside the cluster itself. There is a DCL tuneup procedure that fixes a lot of them, but currently dont address the problems that are inside the cluster (it will soon, as I am doing the update). its on another lincoln site, so search google for DCL tuneup, should find it easyily that way (I try to refrain from posting links to other lincoln sites)

the maf problem may be as simple as cleaning it... again, a specific procedure, not hard, and any mechanic should know how to do it.

ECM's dont fail often, and usually when the do, they are no-start/run issues.... if its running, its probably ok
