Door Lock

Ok, my door lock started acting up after I got it back from the body shop a couple months ago,... sometimes the unlock switch would only work for the passenger's door, and the inside handle was locked tight...
Today I could not open the door... (remote keyfob had no effect, inside unlock, key or keyless entry code, all did virtually Nothing....)
The button lokked like it wanted to move, but didn't, couldn't even lift it manualy.
I pulled the door panel, and now I'm pretty well lost, I can see it had been repaired some time ago, but had been working good for a long time.
Maybe on a related note the seats generally don't retract for the driver's door, but both work fine with passenger...

I started a new job in Omaha last week and left it home while the struts were being replaced, now I'm not sure I want to take it back with me. ( it developed a vibration as well, (maybe unbalenced tire or rotor)) I have to be back on Wednesday.

when my door lock wouldn't open on the driver's side, it was because some kind of mesh fabric inside the door was catching it and keeping it locked. This mesh was all around the lock itself like a sleeve, and it had slipped over the top somehow.

Ok, I know the sleve your referenceing, but this dosen't seem to be mechanical in nature, that's why I mention the seat, I had suspicions about the door closed pin switch, and started to suspect a problem with the anti theft/keyless entry, when I seen the print show a seperte signle to unlock the driver's door and passenger

Well, Kudos to me, now I've managed to get the Passenger door acting up as well, it will reach the top and then go back down...

I thought I should add an update on this, I've been out of town for awhile.
Apperantly the solanoid on the driver's side door lock seems to have been rusted , I had to pry the lock rods with a screwdriver aginst the door skin to unlock the door, then I just worked some spray greese into it until it moved freely,... it's been fine since. (I just couldn't belive how much force it took to move it, and thought the coil must have been holding it down)

The passenger door seems to be slowing down a little now but still works, will do the same for it when I get ambitious enough to remove the door panel, the boot on the drivers side was pretty well non existant.
I think I was actuating it to frequently before, and it stopped working due to overheating.
