so im back again with this car.engine had to be replaced for the 3rd time. (so they say) IDOL CONTROL still comes on. another mechanic said it maybe the piston rings. if anyone has any insight as to what the possibilities maybe please please help. thanks so much.ammi

If they replaced the engine, how can the piston rings be bad?

Having a N* replaced 3x seems ridiculous to me unless you were sold three bad engines to begin with, BTW how does a bad Idle control DTC automatically point to piston rings??? I think you should seek a second opinion.

so the service ride control also comes on with the idol control. the dealership knew this and we brought i tback right away after getting the engine "replaced" they told us service ride control shouldnt be a problem its just because they had it on the hoist too long, just take it on the highway and then reset it.it should be fine.:shifty:
Me i dont believe a damn word these guys are saying.
i also think they just replaced the engine cover did minor work just to get us by and wrote down a different vin # on it in yellow crayon.
anybody have anything to say id appreciate it.
