Sorry it took awhile, but I've finally unpacked and found my docking station for my camera.

Straight off the parts catalog for the Thunderbird and fits perfect on an 03+.

Thats nice! Glad you took the risk to see if it would work for the rest of us 03+ owners! :)

I'm friends with the owner of DNL Auto Sports so there wasn't a huge risk. She'd let me return it and I'd have only been out shipping costs. :) http://www.dnlautosports.com/

It takes about an hour to install and you just need some basic tools. Instructions are fairly easy to follow and aside from the T-Bird logo everything is in the exact same place.

The Butt-Dyno says there definately an increase in power, throttle response and slighly more agressive note when you punch it..

I can't find my invoice, but I'm pretty sure it was under $250 shipped. I had other stuff on the same order so the only number I remember is the total. ;) I'll send an email to Liz at DNL to find out for sure.

Just search for 03 Ford T-bird on K&N's website. "63-1109" is the plastic one and "69-3520TP" is the metal one. They should both fit our cars.

Ken,
Where are you on this, Ken? Can you match, or better, the price and quality? I'm talkin' stainless, by the way.

At this time we haven't looked into a tube for the 03 and up LS's yet. However, it is on our project list to be completed.

Thanks Amoxi for taking one for the team. I thought the K&N would work but was worried about shelling out $250 for a part that might not work. Now that I know it does, I'll have to get one. I not in the immediate market to buy one so if Ken offers them by the end of the year I would like to support our fellow LVC member.

I agree; I'll wait for Ken. But, Ken, you have to understand - we can't wait forever. The sooner you could provide this product, the less likely it will be that members would purchase it elsewhere. At least, if we knew you were working on it, members may be inclined to wait while you do your thing. I, for one, am interested in the stainless version; others may not be. Let us know what your thoughts are on this.

I too would be interested in the stainless tubing as I already have one of Ken's KKM kits. This would be better than the plug we spoke about a while back in Knoxeville Ken.

I like the black plastic since I don't have anything else stainless under the hood.

It was nice meeting you and your wife that night. You have a great looking LSE! As for the stainless steel tubes, I just need to get with the guy that makes them for me and see what he can do.

Unfortunately, the K&N intakes will not fit the 00-02 LS.

Did Ford make an 02 Thunderbird with the same intake as the 02 LS V8? If so then you might have a hot product (KKM intake) since K&N didn't list a CAI for the 02 Thunderbird. You might be one of the few that offers a CAI for that year. If so I want 10% my first order for giving you that idea if you hadn't thought of it already :D

Actually, KKM makes a unit for the 02 T-Bird but it is the exact same item as the 00-02 LS units. I have sold several of the T-Bird units as well as the intake tubes to some of the T-Bird Nest members.

They make that one in aluminum. Wish they made a black for the 00-02s.

Already noted that, but if you notice on their website, the aluminum one has lower gains than the plastic.

Just finished installing the same intake as "amoxi " did, perfect fit, and the best part it sounds really good, a nice growl to it, when it comes to performance, it's possible there are some gains, it could also be my imagination, k&n advertise a 15hp increase with this intake, I don't think 15hp will be that noticible on a big heavy car like ours.
Very pleased with the purchase.

They get drop shipped from K&N so I'll have to call them on Monday to find out. When I placed an order for one last week they didn't say anything about them being backordered.
