EGR/Maf question....

When I was shaving and molding my throttle body tube, I noticed that an EGR tube that goes from the head to the throttle body was severly dry rotted and cracked, and it appeared as if oil was leaking from it. My question is.... Could this effect the way my car runs with the aftermarket 80mm maf housing that I have? It only takes a few minutes to get the maf sensor out of the stock air box and housing, so if anyone thinks that it might be worth a second try.... Let me know. The car seems to idle perfectly now, along with NO hesitation in the first few minutes after start up as it did before i fixed this.

mines dry rotted to hell and my car hesitates and starts rougher than usual the past few weeks. I've changed my plugs and oil to, but no help. I may have a different problem like the IAC though. Thats a pain to get to with those bolts.
