My engine hesitates at a stop, and sometimes while driving, now when I put it in neutral the hesitates stop. I've changed the spark plugs, which helped alot, but did not solve the problem. I only had this car for two weeks, so i don't know much about it. I've read several posts on here about this problem, but no one ever mentioned when the car is in neutral it don't hesitate. When driving you can feel the car hissing, or putting a bit. Its a 93, any advice would help, thanks. CEL come on sometimes, but not all the time, only drove the car 4 times, twice the CEL came on.

Could be lots of things- plug wires, IAC (Idle Air Control - very common issue), Crank and or cam sensor, etc. Even dirty fuel or clogged fuel filter.

Seems like a clogged fuel filter would have more of an effect at high RPMs instead of at or near idle.

If you are getting a CEL, you need to get the codes. Autozone will pull them for free. If you get them, post them back here and we can help.

Same with the one near me, AND the Advance store. Noone in the shop I work in had one that will read Fords.
I am going to buy a code scanner of my own.
