when i start my 2001 deville when it is cold it idles at about 1500 for about a minute then goes down to about 500. is it normal for it to idle this high for so long? I've only had it for 4 months and think it's odd.

sounds like it's doing what it's supposed to do.

With my 80 cdev. (46000 miles) when it's been on idle for about 20 to 30 secs. I give the gas pedal a quick jab and it idles down.
