Is it true? Does the Mercury marauders torque converter fits the 4R70W and that the stall is over 2500?

Any help would be appreciated.

yup.. i think the stall is ~2600, and the marauder has a 4r70w. but what good is another 200 rpm? if your going to do a convertor, just do it once and be done, get a 3000+ (3500 is what would get)

Well, Marauder T/C spec'ed stall is exactly the same like any mark VIII T/C.
It's the increased torque output of the C headed Marauder engine along with the added wieght that affects the stall speed on those cars.
Once you swap a Marauder T/C in a Mark VIII, you won't notice any difference.

Now, there are several other advantages of the 2004 Marauder T/C like better lock up piston, furnace brazing etc.
It's the best stock FORD 4r70w converter made to date.

Simply, Money. Maybe I will wait or should I say, if the tranny will wait. I would get the higher stall. what's the most reasonable one?

Take these as heresay, i have no personal experience with either, although Edge does have good tech support, i have talked to them.
Edge Convertors are cheaper than PI, and Edge has gotten pretty good reviews from what i have seen, where as PI is hit and miss with stall speed.

i put a marauder converter while i resealing my friends trans out of his 95 v8 bird and there was a slight diff but he has only like 250ish hp with all his mods

but thats a decent step up in stall speed for a 2v bird. the mark TC is a nice small upgrade for them, the marauder is one better. they dont need as much stall because they actually make more torque down low than we do.
