Mr Kerry, who has attacked President George W. Bush for failing to broaden the US-led alliance in Iraq, has pledged to improve relations with European allies and increase international military assistance in Iraq.

"I cannot imagine that there will be any change in our decision not to send troops, whoever becomes president," Gert Weisskirchen, member of parliament and foreign policy expert for Germany's ruling Social Democratic Party, said in an interview.

It's just a matter of striking the right deal. Bush just pissed everyone off and made it that much harder for anyone who might come along and try to strike a bargain but face it, they're all a bunch of whores. Never say never.

All b.s. aside, the truthful and only reason France and Germany did not participate in the ouster of Saddam was they wanted Saddam to stay in power. If Saddam stayed in power, they could keep their oil contracts. That is all it is and ever was. Oil Contracts. Don't let anybody else fool you.
