1986 Mark VII BB

5.0 L motor

************************

Drive side window stuck in down position.

Cleaned the window switch with contact cleaner to no avail. I then tried to jumper lead around the switch. Got one hot lead. Suspect motor shorted.

Pulled panel off door. Could not figure how to get access to window or get to the up position.

Is there a way to get the window up without power?

I do not have the funds to replace anything at this time, so, I'm looking to put the window in permanent up position until the big fix.

Also, do you think I have a short, and where exactly should I look.

All Data and my Haynes manual do not show my actual car.

To get the window up permanent remove the motor and then push the glass up and put the motor back in. When mine went I put a hose clamp on the regulator on a rod near the rear of the door to hold it up incase the motor moved at all. Does your door have the three holes drilled? there should be three small holes or dimples for the holes to get at the screws that hold the motor to the door. And the motor is located in the bottom of the door near the middle.
