My 94 Mark VIII has a rattle in the dash on the passenger side that has me stumpped. I've siliconed several areas which appeared to be the problem but the gremlin persists. :eek: The rattle occurs as soon as the car starts moving but I'm unable to duplicate the sound when the car is parked. It sounds like a piece of plastic trim rubbing but I can't see anything else behind or above the glove box except the air bag restraint system which is my next step. Anyone have similar experiences?

this happend to me except more towards the drive side center section.. i let it go for about 45 min... got extremely pissed and punched the dash.... havent heard it since

I have nasty creaking that occurs whenever I pass over a speed bump with only one tire, or drive up an incline at a slight angle, or sometimes when I accelerate hard from a stop....

Damn chassis flexing drives me nuts.

I had a similar rattle on the passenger side of the dashboard.

I finally found the culprit, a little piece of plastic that somehow broke off from the inside of the pass HVAC vent grille.

Took the went grille out, and removed the piece. Rattle Gone.

Economy, have you had the eight K member bolts checked as of late? They may be lose.

I'm not very familiar with FoMoCo vehicles, so I assumed it was due to weak welds in the unibody.

Do you have a diagram or picture of the bolt locations?

The creaking has gotten worse. When I bought the car, it was pretty solid and since putting 10K miles on it, I've heard the creaks get audibly louder. In fact, the creak began on the passenger side a-pillar and are now happening on both sides.

Also, when driving on slightly bumpy or uneven roads, I get a pretty nasty transmission of vibrations through the steering column. Not the vibrations of out of balance tires, or alignment shakes, but the actual bumps themselves. Is there a cure for that?
