well just got my car running again but it is a 96 motor in the 95 mark viii. now i was just reading a previous thread that said that you can run 4-5 degrees no prob on the 95 motor but the 96 you would have trouble. now is this due to a difference in cam duration. cause i have had problems with the motor backfiring through the intake. so my guess is that it is timed wrong. so if anyone could tell me how to retime this thing that would be awesome

I thought timing was not adjustable on these cars without a chip?

You can also adjust timing with a timing adjuster like Steeda. UPR also makes one now for the 4.6 DOHC. The 96 motor should be able to handle 4 degrees timing advance no problem... the backfire with your intake is something completly different.
