This sucked at the time, but I'm laughing now...

I just got the '91 back from the paint shop... custom paint work with the Twilight Blue metalic is absolutely beautiful!

Anyway, I'm putting in my new door lock and window motors, since the panels are off. And I'm testing the lock motors on the passenger side, with the passenger side button panel pluged in. (the driver side panel is in the house).
I move to the driver side to install that lock motor. I install the motor and plug in the same passenger side button panel to test it...nothing. After thinking the button just went out and taking a button from my old '85 panel, I finally looked closely at the wiring...it just didn't occur to me that it was different...dUh! lol.. .Yes the plug will fit, but the wires are different, left to right. Sure these cars have their signature issues but there are so many parts that rarely break down at all. Door lock switches are one of those.
You have to use the left or right panel to work each lock button. lol ...
I thought this might save someone some un-needed frustration. :)

Took panel off, fiddled around, lubricated, and Viola! The lock, locked, switches operated it and all was happy again in Lincoln land.


Next day, put key in lock and Viola! The lock unlocked.

That is where it has been stuck since, for a year -- unable to lock.

More than likely, your motor has locked up. Thus will not allow the key to turn, because it's connected to the lock process.
You'll have to take your door panel off and have a look. I'll bet your door lock motor is seized because it's been drowned with rain water from a lame or cracked outer rubber window scraper. When they dry and crack, they let water in like a running faucet. And if your lock motor's rubber cover has dried and cracked, it just runs into the motor, itself... . . .after a while, it becomes trashed and unable to function! :(

Thats exactly what im dealing with. The drip wipe(?) seal. is it? Thats the first issue to deal with, these april showers are killin me- its off to the boneyards tomorrow with fingers crossed-

What Bobby will send you looks like a dealer set. I was blown away! He even included the attaching HD staples.

I didn't care for the crap from JC Whittney... one set I ordered from JC, would've taken too much to install...and they had metal on the outside... blah. I threw em in the trash.
