I have a 2000 LS V8,, with factory tape deck,, I got a Alpine 6 factory deck,,, how hard is it to replace?
Do I need to remove the whole dash?
Local dealer said yes,,

Thanks for the info.
I am basically removing the factory tape deck unti with the factory Alpine 6 Disk version.
From the HowTo i just got here seems like i only need to remove everythin in the front console,, NOT the whole damn dash like someone told me,,lol
If I do it myself how long u think it would take?
Dealer said them about 1.5 hrs at $79./ hour

The HOW TO u sent was bout installing an aftermarket deck,, should i follow the same steps up untill it talks about the new deck and how to mount it?

yes for pulling apart the dash removing old radio. New radio there's no mounting issues. should bolt right in with the 4 bolts. you'll see once you get it apart:)
