Sometimes, not all the time, but sometimes when step on the breaks its like...not realy a clunk sound...but a clunk feel comming from the pass front side. What could that be, a control arm?

Frat-man-du April 13th, 2006, 07:47 AM I would bet Upper control arm - seems to be the weakest point - usually go around 70-80K. Just did mine - cured a lot of noises and vibrations. MrWilson April 13th, 2006, 07:49 AM I would bet Upper control arm - seems to be the weakest point - usually go around 70-80K. Just did mine - cured a lot of noises and vibrations. now what am i looking for to see if its a failure? Could be ball joints. Check the strut rod bushings too. and...that too...how do i check for failure? Frat-man-du April 13th, 2006, 07:53 AM Mine was so sloppy I (t/off air ride) jacked up the front and I could move the tire and watch the ball joint move around (left to right movement) The pass side was so bad the joint actually came apart while I was removing it (only have 75K). Not a bad job, the driver's side you have to remove the bolts to the master cyl and move out of the way to get to the one nut. Figure 4 hours if you are lazy like I am and take a couple breaks. 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC April 13th, 2006, 03:51 PM You can look at the bushing between the control arm and strut rod and usually tell if there bad. You can have someone push the tire back with there foot while your looking, you'll likely see movement or here noise. | ||||
