alright, so my moonroof is stuck about 3/4 closed....fun :D ....it worked fine most of the day today, till i went to a friends house and it didnt close right...somehow i managed to close it right before leaving......so, got back home, opened it, went all the way to the back inside the roof, tried to close back up, it stopped almost closed, kept trying to close it and now its stuck about 3/4 closed........so i take the little access panel thingy in the headliner, and one of the torx screws holding the motor falls out, it was loose  ......check the other two, there loose too :( ........anybody have this happen to them, moonroof will go back into the roof and come back out till about 3/4 so the motors good, right?, could it all just be misaligned cause the screws were loose??????? ive never had a moonroof so yeah......help :shifty:

Just went through this on my 98 LSC.

The motor is "out -of - sync".

look at the gear housing on the motor you will see a little clear, round, plastic window. There are two little gears one white, one gray they each have little 'tit' that have to line up for the roof to work.

the roof must be all the way forward and in the normal seated position to align the gears. You have to remove the motor (3 screws and power cable) to move the roof manually. Once back in place connect the power cord only and cycle the switch til the gears align. Now you can reassemble -USE blue loctite to secure the screws so this wont happen again any time soon.

97-98 are totally different than 93-96

Hope this helps.
