Is there any way to remove the dull look from headlamps? Or do you just have to replace them?

try plastX from meguiar's for light oxidation from everyday use.Follow up with a coat of polish,then seal with a good carnauba wax.For heavily pitted headlights,you can try wetsanding with 2000 grit wet paper with soap and water.once you get the whole surface sanded,it should have a smooth,dull finish. you then need to polish the lights using light polishing compound (meguiar's fine-cut or 3M perfect it 3000,). This needs to be done with a buffer/polisher set at 800-1500 RPM. If you don't want to take the headlights out,first mask off the edges of the hood,fenders,and bumper with two inch masking tape so you don't burn any paint on the car.Once they are buffed,follow up with the procedure listed above.Trust me,this works.If you take your time the headlamps will look factory new!

Thanks, I'll be doing this soon along with CCFL rings and finally removing the awful condensation inside the lamp.

Glad I can help. If you don't own a buffer,or the rest of the materials I mentioned earlier, go to your local body shop and ask them how much it will cost to do it. I have done this on several vehicles already and it works great.
