AC Control Unit QuestionGMAN April 8th, 2006, 11:04 PM I switched my AC control unit to one out of a Gen II. I noticed that OFF dosen't display. Is this how this is supposed to be? JC1994 April 8th, 2006, 11:10 PM I didn't think that gen 2's will work in a gen 1. GMAN April 8th, 2006, 11:28 PM It is working just fine. 94m5 April 10th, 2006, 07:00 AM my 98 does'nt display "OFF", and I have a gen2 unit in the 94, and the 95. I can't remember what they say tho. Frogman April 10th, 2006, 07:55 AM Mine don't say anything when it's off. Frat-man-du April 10th, 2006, 08:49 AM My 98 is just blank when cycled off. driller April 10th, 2006, 08:54 AM The new '96 EATC in my '93 says "OFF" when cycled off. I wish it would show outside temp when off. ;) Dr. Paul April 10th, 2006, 10:15 AM Are crazy AC Control Units a common problem with Mark VIIIs? My A/C will be working fine, then I'll hit a bump, and it will shut off. Oh, and my heat doesn't work. The blower works fine, but the air is cold. I'm guessing that may be the dreaded mixture door, but who knows... I live in Phoenix, so I just went through the whole winter and didn't bother fixing it. :D Paul. Just check this link (http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/tech/lincoln-mark-viii/blower-motor-repair/index.htm). The second problem of no heat, that is just the blend door actuator behind the dash. Do a search on blend door. Dr. Paul April 10th, 2006, 04:28 PM Both of those issues have been address numerous times. For the first, there is a fix for that.
