I'm a noob here and just need to learn stuff about my car.

Just wondering if I run catless, I will probably get a CEL. But will the CEL cause my car to go into limp mode? Or is it just a light indicater and won't hinder engine performance?

I had a cat fail (long story). The light was on and the car seemed to have less power. It wasn't limp-home-mode, put I was down a few horses.
