5w20 use a motorcraft filter

I like the K&N oil filters HP-2010 - pricey compared to the Motocraft's.

Mobile 1 Filter.

Really good insurance against oil related failures.

i went to the local Ford dealer today and i've found Mobil1 5W-30 (that's what they recommended to me) at ~10$ / liter. a decent price for 6 liters. now i'm waiting for a call from them to see if they can hook me up with the oil/air & gas filter + the transmision oil. i'm aspecting some astronomic prices on these parts even if they are 80% less on the internet but i need them as quick as possible since the bord computer warns me about the LOW OIL and the tranny kinda shifts with a lag. i will post the prices they offered to me the parts here.

the origonal oil was 5w30 it has since been superceded from ford to 5w20.this was retroactive to all 4.6l engines.these cars have such tight tolerances that the lighter oil is better.

got some local shop quote for some parts today

oil filter - 20$
air filter - 60$
gas filter - 32$
transaxle filter kit - 45$
transaxle oil - 25$ / liter !! and i need 12 liters
engine oil - 10$ / liter...

kinda expensive here in Romania

Whoa! I new cars here and there are different but I never thought oils were so different. But it must feel good that nobody there has a Continental ( Or a Lincoln). You must be asked what kind of car that is often. I must assume few people know about them?
