Just got 98 mk8 base, 70000 miles, turn signal, tail light, and brake light went out on way home on right side(Pass.).
Can't see way to check bulb, have removed cover and found wires, but the gasket(?) seems very tight.
Don't want to cause more damage by yanking, but do need to fix.

Fuel door release is also stuck, any thoughts?

The corner lights come out as one assembly, I think they have four bolts. The lights twist in and lock.
