Frogman April 4th, 2006, 08:25 AM And I have to send it back already...
they forgot to add a swaybar mounting bracket provision. So, back to AJE it goes to have that added.
ugh.
Other than that, the construction and workmanship look great.

Did I mention I'm not thrilled about this?
Frat-man-du April 4th, 2006, 08:45 AM Does look good though!
Staffamerica74 April 4th, 2006, 09:04 AM What are all the advantages of the tubular K member?
Jibit April 4th, 2006, 09:11 AM mostly weight, extra room (headers), probably stronger
Frogman April 4th, 2006, 09:14 AM Weight Savings, stronger, and easier to work on lower engine parts/accessories.
Staffamerica74 April 4th, 2006, 09:20 AM Ok, heres an even better question. How much does a beauty like that cost?
Frogman April 4th, 2006, 09:26 AM A little under 10 bills, and that includes the lower A arms.
Well, in my case, a little over 10 bills, because I gotta send the effing thing back for them to fix it.
67Continental April 4th, 2006, 10:00 AM does that mean just under 1000 dollars?
Frogman April 4th, 2006, 10:09 AM Yes sir.
$978 and some change, IIRC.
Dominus April 4th, 2006, 11:16 AM It looks like it will need reinforcing. Didn't someone on LOD have to do that?
Dr. Paul April 4th, 2006, 01:48 PM Did they jig that thing up so they can reproduce it for other cars?
Those AJE K-members aren't known for their strength. I would be careful around potholes and the like, especially on such a heavy car. I've installed 9 tubular K-members at this point in my life, and I LOVE the benefits they provide, but they make me just a little bit nervous.
Paul.
torquemonkey April 4th, 2006, 03:35 PM Can you drop your oil pan without pulling the engine, in that beauty?
GMAN April 7th, 2006, 11:25 PM What is the K-member?
JC1994 April 7th, 2006, 11:32 PM well it's basically the front end of the car, the engine and suspension bolt to it and it bolts to the front frame rails.
torquemonkey April 7th, 2006, 11:36 PM What is the K-member?
Certainly not a K-mart shopper!
GMAN April 8th, 2006, 09:43 PM I never did much work to my suspension other than change my bags and upper and lower control arms. Is the K-member something that needs replacing over time? Or are they mostly upgraded to improve performance?
JC1994 April 8th, 2006, 09:52 PM weight savings and rigidity are the benefits of a tubular K-frame. :D
Greenmachine April 15th, 2006, 09:29 PM do you have to use the factory style bags or can you use a custom setup like coil over shocks made for racing?
Dr. Paul April 15th, 2006, 09:33 PM For all the folks on here that have been repeating the same thing...
THAT K-MEMBER IS NOT STRONGER, OR MORE RIGID THAN A STOCK ONE.
*Men's Warehouse Voice*
I guarantee it
Paul. :)
Dominus April 15th, 2006, 09:36 PM I remember than ponyfreak had to do a lot of reinforcement with it when using it on the white car.
But he did say that the space was completely unparalleled.
Dr. Paul April 16th, 2006, 12:39 PM Don't get me wrong. I absolutely LOVE tube K-members, and have them on all my cars, but they're still not as strong as the stock one. :D
