Good or bad PCV valve

I replaced the PCV valve today. I thought the valve might be faulty because when I blew air through the valve the air would only go one way. Air was able to go through the PCV valve both ways with the one I replaced it with. Weird!! I did the PCV test. I let the car idle at normal operating temperature and removed the oil cap. I barely felt any suction, but it was present. I also shook both PCV valves, the one I replaced and the new one, and the thing inside jiggled on both valves, So what gives?
My biggest concern is about the forced air going through the pcv. Should the air only travel one way or both ways?

Air is supposed to travel one way. The valve should rattle inside when you shake it. That's usually the way people check if it's good.
