chamorro April 1st, 2006, 01:16 AM  Okay, I have a fix it ticket for my tinted windows that was due on the 26th of Feb. I have not got it signed off yet, which is very stupid, lazy, and hypocritical of me. My question is, when I do get it signed off, what's going to happen? Are they going to tow my car right there off the back. Is there a FINE involved??? If so how much would the fine be? (estimate) Is there a WARRANT out for me??? I have never gotten a fix it ticket so I am clueless on what's going to happen. I think getting a ticket for your tint is the stupidest thing.
If anybody has any information or has had previous experiences, please feel free to reply. Thanks!
HyeLifeLS April 1st, 2006, 01:54 AM I have had stuff like that happen to me couple of times. If only 1 or 2 days would be passed after the due date, you could still get an axtension online or by going to the court building. Ask for an extension at the clerk's window. They are going to send you a new bill, about $616 with a new due date. Get the ticket signed off and go to the court on that day, appologize to the judge and he might give you a little break.
I have seen a judge giving a break as much as 90% for that mannor, but also I had one nasty judge, he raised the price from $600 to $700+.
Try getting an extension first, call the court or something. If you can get the extension then you will be fine, if not, then you are down for a bunch of money.
Good luck
siddymae April 1st, 2006, 03:22 AM man they arent strict like that here. i asked a cop friend of mine how dark my tint was allowed to be he said we dont ever care about that. and since i know who u are ur good.
but damn ur ticket is almost 700?

HyeLifeLS April 1st, 2006, 03:43 AM Man, I had that kind of sh!t 2 or 3 times... Even if it comes that much, go and ask the judge to give you a discount, you never know..

If you don't meet the deadline, I think they automatically issue a warrant for your arrest.
I would call the court, admit that you are an idiot moron lazy dumbass who missed the deadline, and ask what you can do now.
dachamp April 1st, 2006, 06:29 AM in canada its $100.00 fine for limo tint on the front two windows

I don't think the $700 fine is for the tint...it's for missing his date. I'll tell you what...with those kinds of fines, you can bet your ass I wouldn't miss one.
HyeLifeLS April 1st, 2006, 03:14 PM Yea, that's for missing the deadline...

lexdiamondz10304 April 1st, 2006, 04:47 PM Well, I got a ticket too about 3 weeks ago (tint), does anyone know how this tint ticket thing works? Im in Palmdale/Los Angeles CA... is there a fine im supposed to pay? or what is this I hear about getting it signed off?
00ls5spd April 1st, 2006, 04:57 PM Go to San Diego County Sheriff's webiste....You can search and see who has a warrant, put in your name and it should come up. If you have a warrant you can call the court house ( should be circled on your ticket)and see what your fine is, most likely it will be around $361 That's what mine was. The fine is for missing the date. You can pay the fine through the mail, you will forfit your fine to keep it off your record. Or you can go to the court house and tell the clerk you missed your court date and they may let you appear the next day at 8:00a.m. you will have to pay the fine but may get it lowered if you have a nice judge and have a really good reason for missing the date. I would just call and see what it is and pay the fine.
br94mk8 April 1st, 2006, 06:03 PM they suspended my registration for that
HyeLifeLS April 1st, 2006, 07:35 PM If it's checked on your ticket that your vialotion is correctable, then you need to remove your tint, go to Highway Patrol and have them signed off. Some Police stations charge $5-10 for that, but the HP is free. You send the copy of the ticket to the court with a $10 money order and that's it. Or it is better to take that signed off ticket along with $10 to the court building in person and have em dismissed.
Afterwards, don't forget to tint the windows again.;)

StinkinLinkinLS01 April 1st, 2006, 09:10 PM HAHA! I got a fix-it ticket for my tint because someone followed me from the highway, reported I was driving recklessly, and had the cops surround me in my school parking lot. They couldn't give me a ticket for wreckless driving so they gave me a tint ticket (15%). This was about six months ago and I never did ANYTHING about it. The ticket was only about $200, so I figured I might as well pay it cause I wasn't going to pay to take off the tint and then have it put right back on. I've all ready been to court since then for an unrelated speeding ticket and they said nothing about the tint ticket. I suppose it helped that they labled my car as a BLACK CONTINENTAL and my car is a GREEN LS. That is why I love these cars, not even the cops know what they are!
p.s. I got pulled over the other day, cops asked me about the tint, I told him I was in the process of having it removed due to the fix-it ticket I got the week before (really it was about 6 months before) and he didn't do anything. I'm pretty sure I'm off clean! WOO! lol
StinkinLinkinLS01 April 1st, 2006, 09:15 PM by the way, I live in minnesota. Every single time I've been pulled over (3 times total) the cops told me they wouldn't have looked twice at me if I wasn't speeding, which I was. The last time was just last weekend when I was at the street races in downtown Minneapolis. Cops came and I went aorund a few slow trucks and they lit me up. I was totally legit so they let me go and didn't say :q:q:q:q about the tint. That night I smoked a Pontiac G6 (brand new), an Impala (01V6) with full exhaust, and another Lincoln Conti. When they asked if I was racing I looked at him and said, "in a lincoln?" the cop just nodded and said "yea...i guess ur right". Man I love these cars!
ToddG April 1st, 2006, 09:20 PM I've heard that if you miss the date, they post your license and registration at the post office and on the internet!
StinkinLinkinLS01 April 1st, 2006, 09:50 PM Why would they do that? I was told that if I don't get my fix-it ticket signed off by a patrolman then I would just be sent a ticket in the mail.
SoonerLS April 1st, 2006, 11:13 PM Todd was joking. For you young 'uns, the Post Office is where the FBI posts/poted its "Most Wanted Criminals" lists.
StinkinLinkinLS01 April 2nd, 2006, 02:42 PM ohhh...yea...what would us youngins know about "Most Wanted Criminals"....
sloban April 2nd, 2006, 03:34 PM ohhh...yea...what would us youngins know about "Most Wanted Criminals"....
No, it's not that, I think SoonerLS was teasing about wanted posters in the Post Office. Have you seriously seen a wall in the post office covered in wanted posters? They don't still do that, do they?
But back in the dark ages, before the web, before cable access channels, the post office would have a book of wanted posters and wanted posters up on the walls for the "most wanted." I remember as a kid (in the late 50's, early 60's) looking at the wanted posters.
StinkinLinkinLS01 April 2nd, 2006, 03:39 PM yea, and come to think about it I've probably only been in a post office less than a half dozen times my entire life. lol!
SoonerLS April 2nd, 2006, 03:44 PM Yeah, Sloban's got it. Hell, I'm old enough to remember when there were videos on MTV ( :D ), and I couldn't tell you when the last time was that I went into a post office. I think they did still have the wanted posters and books then, but I couldn't say if they still do...
ToddG April 2nd, 2006, 05:08 PM ohhh...yea...what would us youngins know about "Most Wanted Criminals"....
Also known as Rap "Artists".
2001LS8Sport April 3rd, 2006, 09:55 AM The FBI's top 10 list was always there. Ahhh the good ol' days!
lexdiamondz10304 April 13th, 2006, 07:06 PM DAMN....... my ticket says that my tint ticket is not correctable... does anybody know what this means?! Does anyone know how much the fine would be?
chamorro April 13th, 2006, 08:09 PM DAMN....... my ticket says that my tint ticket is not correctable... does anybody know what this means?! Does anyone know how much the fine would be?
Tint is always correctable unless the dude don't like you. Call the court and have it checked.
