Does the sunroof require any maintainance? I have never had one before. Anything that should be done to keep it in good working order?

idk if it really does but just for the hell of it i sprayed a little bit of lithium grease on the moving parts i seen, wouldent hurt reduce wear i think.

Hmm my roof does close correctly, like you close it and hold the botton and it just keeps going and goes right to vent, i cant figure out how to make it close perfectly.

It doesn't stop by itself in the closed position?

Another really good thing for roofs is to "help" them a smidge - nothing too strong, but use your free hand to guide the roof, especially when closing.... it will really save the motor and clutch and mechanisms on higher mileage cars....
