StinkinLinkinLS01 March 31st, 2006, 12:38 PM I'm not sure if this has all ready been done but when I read the original thread from over a year ago in regards to the SC it stated the first 5 would be sold for $2500. Sort of like "guinee pig kits". Is this still the plan? if so are all 5 people locked in yet? if not I have the cash RIGHT NOW. lol. im gettin so damn anxious i cant stand it. no seriously though if there arent any problems with the SC in the next month or so when would you guys like to have the kit ready for the public? I just wanna know if I should hang on to the money I have now or if I should spend it on some other aesthetics for my LS. Thanks in advance...
PM80 March 31st, 2006, 04:41 PM I got dibs on the 2nd one and if need be i can drive out to TX
jwkuipers March 31st, 2006, 05:07 PM 3rd is soo mine. I have a feeling they dropped the project when Lincoln killed the LS. :q:q:q:qing Lincoln.
lloydrage March 31st, 2006, 05:17 PM I was shocked when I heard they dropped the LS. what did they replace it with? I dont think I ever heard what they replaced it with
itsnotmydaddys March 31st, 2006, 06:13 PM zephyr replaced the ls
jlser March 31st, 2006, 06:35 PM The Zephyr did not replace it. I heard from a Lincoln dealer there will be a new model coming out next year that will replace it. There is a good chance it will be called a Continental. He also said that a new Town Car will be coming out and there is a possibility that it will have rear suicide doors.
GrayGhost1 March 31st, 2006, 06:38 PM zephyr replaced the ls
The Zephyr did not replace the LS. The LS will be replaced with the MKS in 2008.
beaups March 31st, 2006, 07:34 PM #4 here

sui doors. i will definetly be looking for that car
StinkinLinkinLS01 March 31st, 2006, 08:47 PM Well then I'm #5 if no one has that covered. I'll drive from MN tomorrow...lol! I'll even put down $$$$ today. Personally...I doubt they "dropped", Lou has been working on this for over a year and their are more than enough people on this site alone that want an SC...it is definitely still worth while. As the prices drop below 10k for a 00-02 LS their will be a huge increase in "kids" (20s & under) that will be purchasing these cars and that SC will be a definite hot commodity regardless of what Lincoln does with the LS. Plus I doubt too many people purchasing a brand new LS are interested in a supercharger anyways.
chr0me March 31st, 2006, 08:48 PM well i call #5 lol sucks the ls is being replaced...
Quik LS March 31st, 2006, 08:56 PM I believe that is still the plan - I need to check to make sure....
I have one more round of proto-typing with all the production pieces (manifold, hoses, ...etc) and build the install video before we are ready to go.
I have been driving around for a couple of days now - not tuned so I can't hammer on it - so far so good.
I need to really test out the cooling system and the max boost...
J3FF March 31st, 2006, 09:53 PM I've got the money for this thing so I dont care about calling shotgun here, I beleive it should goto who ever hands over that money first! I can have $2500 wired anywhere as we speak.
Vivid LS March 31st, 2006, 10:30 PM I have the money ready to go for this as well.
waltdeuce March 31st, 2006, 10:50 PM quik........one more eager customer over here.
lloydrage April 1st, 2006, 06:55 AM I cant wait to see the improvement stats. I wonder how high the hp will be after you add the sc?
J3FF April 1st, 2006, 11:08 AM I want to know the stats and how bad the MPG is going to be.
jwkuipers April 1st, 2006, 01:55 PM Wouldn't the mpg stay the same or increase? Your forcing more air in resulting in a larger explosion, so more power with same amount of fuel.
I may be totally wrong, I am a car noob, as I am just getting into cars.
J3FF April 1st, 2006, 02:08 PM I always thought that the more air the car got the more fuel was needed. I could be wrong as well.
Quik LS April 1st, 2006, 02:42 PM guys, technically adding a SC will make the engine more efficient and therefore better mpg - however - I have never seen an actual performance upgrade of this magitude result in better economy becase you always find a way to use it a 'little more' - so more air + more fuel = more power (but notice I said more fuel)
beaups April 1st, 2006, 03:34 PM I thought under normal driving a supercharger decreased MPG slightly due to the load of the compressor on the engine.
J3FF April 1st, 2006, 09:56 PM Hey...SEE he said more fuel!!! lol. I was on the right path.
StinkinLinkinLS01 April 1st, 2006, 10:01 PM You must also take in to account how much differently you will be driving the LS with a SC on it. I'm sure MPG will suffer just becuase of that.
By the way...if it is a guarantee that I can have a refund if the kit doesn't turn out by June I will put down the $2500 A.S.A.P. sorry chr0me..unless someone all ready had that #5 spot called I got it just before you did...lol! no big deal tho although I would much rather pay $2500 than $3500 but like J3FF said, I've got the $2500 RIGHT NOW so I guess it really depends on who has the $$ first!
chr0me April 2nd, 2006, 06:14 PM lmao its all good, i want to see the tuning, and the final stages come into place
then we can talk about business :wrench
