lloydrage March 31st, 2006, 04:07 PM very easy. you have to take out the head lights to do it but its worth it

Once the headlight is out, reach in and find the release tab. The tab is at the rear (in reference to the car) of the of the sidemarker.

hey lloyd, could you tell me how you tinted them? Nightshade?
lloydrage March 31st, 2006, 05:05 PM nightshaded it up. It took some work and I tinted them as dark as hell.
1) take them out (of course)
2) start sanding them down you want to continue to sand them until they are smooth. you should use a harder sandpaper and a softer sandpaper. first use the hard to get rid of the lettering (the ford lettering is the hardest ot get off) then use the light sand paper to smooth it over
3) after it is smooth wash it. You want it to be smooth. then dry it off
4) then start using nightshade. it says not to use more then 4 coats but I coated the sh!t out of it. I wanted it to be dark (in between coats use the light sand paper to keep it smooth)
4) after its dry use clear coat spray (i did 2 layers)
5) your done.
if you look at my cardomain site you can see how dark mine are
01lssport March 31st, 2006, 05:13 PM You should have just painted them black man.
lloydrage March 31st, 2006, 05:16 PM yeah. I really like how they turned out. in fact I am going to start doing them for people. they tell me how many coats and I will do it for them. if any one is interested let me know we can talk price.

how did you take the markers out of the bumper?
lloydrage March 31st, 2006, 06:22 PM you have to take the head lights out then reach in and push the marker towards the car and out. there is a little tab you will have to push in. its pretty easy once you look at it

nah.. i was really gentle.. more placement than force. i found a how-to on ken's site that showed that it was really simple.
Your Dudeness April 3rd, 2006, 11:27 AM Thanks a lot for the info llyod. Think i'll be doing that this weekend. Can you get the Nightshade at any local shops (Autozone, Advanced Auto, etc.) should I just order online? links?
