jakenmark March 29th, 2006, 04:43 PM I'm wondering if there is good source for a replacement dash. Mine is pretty badly cracked. I've tried online but have found nothing. I'm thinking anything I find in a salvage yard would be just as bad. Anyone know of a source?? Also hoping to find a replacement door panel.
Black87LSC March 29th, 2006, 04:46 PM I dont know of any place besides the boneyard... My dad sold a nice 1 on Ebay out of 1 of our parts cars a while back, you could check there... Shipping is a lot tho.....

Hi.
Mapquest says that you live in the middle of Glen Lake in Michigan. I live in 19018 which is like, some drainage ditch. The yards that I know about are in PA and a good dash is getting harder to find.
Anyway, dashboards come exclusively from donor/parts cars. These are either found in a parts yard or bought from the guy that's just trying to get $100.00 for the shell that he just finished with.
I've only read about it but there were reported vinyl products that weld cracks together. Dashmats are still a popular option.

Ya, I live a bit south of the lake. Glen Lake is in between Glen Arbor and Empire. All the parts yards I've contacted have nothing. There's only really 3 anywhere near me, but they are pretty huge sites. Most of the guys I'm talking to are crushing most of the vehicles of our age at this point. There is apparantly not enough $$$ in them anymore. I've used some of the repair products and they do alright, however my dash is so brittle at this point I'd be perpetualy fixing the thing. Also, I'd really like to have a good solid unit at this point. I looked through JC Whitney but didn't see any dash mats for my Mark. Where should I be looking?
John Hubertz March 29th, 2006, 08:06 PM Check www.car-part.com - you can do a regional or state by state search if you wish.
Many yards don't list dashboards, so you might check for a door panel or a speedometer cluster. By checking for speedometers you can find lower mileage cars - bottom line is a ton of these are in wonderful shape since most lincolns are garaged until 3rd or 4th owners.
Color is going to be your problem - but here is one:
1990
Dash Panel
Lincoln Mark VII RED A 9040 $Call ABC Auto Salvage, Inc. USA-NE(North-Platte) Request_Quote 1-800-422-4683 Request_Insurance_Quote
Gotta be sweet or they wouldn't bother listing it.
FYI typical price is around $150 for these plus shipping based on the others I found. That's the only red one within 400 miles of you.

I called this morning and the guy said "the cars been sitting a long long time so I'm sure it's no good" and then just hung up on me.
Anyway, thanks for the lead. I'll try carparts.com and see if I can find something. I've got one other salvage yard to try too.
