I loved the "Huggie Bear" reference.....We be PIMPIN

Plus, look at THIS example of their "restrained elegance"

This Jaguar makes a Mark VIII look like a Tuxedo at a leisure suit convention - and it is BONE STOCK. Like that (gay) off-color piping and the little trays for your jar of an*l-eze?

And what is most appalling of all is that interior is CREAM COLORED

I LOVE IT. The mustang makes a lot of noise but doesnt actually do anything. NICE. And i tell ya what, ill buy ANY mk8 with a 7L engine. DANG! 429 DOHC SJC motor in the mk8 would do it good. But hes got it right....ford doesnt know. they just dont know.

and you forgot to mention that that jag has a v24 16L motor!

If you click the initial link it is a broadcast of a British auto journalist who describes the Mark as hideous and infers only a pimp would drive it....

Of course you know what this ACTUALLY means don't you?

I means that those Limeys take breaks from criticizing America by watching OLD STARSKY AND HUTCH episodes because their TV is so CRAPPY.... in fact, I'm pretty sure that until last year, BAYWATCH was still in the top 5 of their favorites..... (pauses to hurl into the wastebasket which ironically is shaped like Pamela Anderson's head)

He also criticizes a Mustang's performance while driving a BASE model V6 convertible.... and says Marks have 7 liter engines and admires the consoles to carry our Uzi Machine Pistols in....

I don't know if he's a "cigarette" or not....but Detroit sure made him sh*t his pants... I lived there in 1994 and used to LOVE taking foreign employees for the "post apocalypse tour" of our more interesting neighborhoods at dusk....

The Uzi part was funny, but I guess he's not see a Mustang when it's on steroids.. Torque Torque Torque Torque Torque... Then I guess they don't know how to modify a car either.

Mustang best bang for the buck!! Priced so anyone can own one. Aftermarket parts up the @ss so anyone can go fast!

Light so you can lift tje front wheels off the ground and park it on it's roof!

You're tellin' me! Mustangs are great, There are thousands out there, but so many aftermarket parts - each can be unique (and for little money). Wish our Marks would catch on like that.

I hope your not serious. I bought my mark to be different, if i wanted a mustang, I would have bought one.

That unknown (to some of you) British Journalist is Jeremy Clarkson, the Top Gear Guy.

I am lucky enough to have both, well kinda. my wife has the Ford and I have the Lincoln (not to mention the rest of the friggin fleet in my garage and driveway)

My wife has a convt and I love it, but for different reasons than my Mark.

Her car is stupid loud, super fast and easy to modify and to get replacement parts for - including interior trim. It is by no means comfortable and not good for long trips, unlike the Mark. Still there is just somthing about dropping the top and getting heavy on the gas petal that lets you forget everything but the road and the car.

I love my Mark for the Style, power and comfort it offers (plus much cheaper insurance). I would not take her Stang over my Mark, but I love to drive the convertible on a nice summer night through the mountain roads and down to the beach. I love to make unsuspecting Rice boys suck my exhaust fumes from my Mark in a street race, where in the Stang they are expecting it.

In fairness, I've seen the entire video.
This was a sort of special episode by the TopGear guy on Detroit and it's relationship with the auto. It had classic cars, drag racing, and Motown. Bob Sieger is even interviewed in it. It was actually a good television show.

And given that guy's level of sarcasm, I took his comments to be positive (I also have a black interior so I could agree with the creme comments.) I also liked the 7 liter comment, apparently the Mark performs so well, with enough torque, for a guy used to driving Enzo's would believe it had a 7 liter in it.

I'll see if I can find the complete hour episode and upload it.

Also note- it's a big file.
But it's pretty entertaining and worth the download effort.

I can't get the video to work.
So it might not be worth the effort at all.

Speedvision carries his stuff, he is hilarious in new performance cars. Sarcastic as h*ll. I love him, but he is full of stuff re the Mark and Mustang....

I recognize the syndrome, Detroit was incredible in 1993. It did not have to be changed to film Robocop... in the early 90s it looked like Beirut on acid - and arson fires lit the night sky 365 days a year. He's just a poor Euro boy too far from home.

Me? If I don't play my "relaxation Detroit" CD so I can hear gunfire at night it makes me homesick.
