Im puttin 430's in my mark and im having trouble finding a speedo gear. i found that the higest gear to find a speedo gear in namebrand products is a 4:10 any help? Also im looking for a set of headlights i dont care how bad they are just as long as they work i need them for a top secret mark 8 headlight project ive been wanting to start for awhile. no cracks just need a left and a right assembly.

also what kind of stall should i run with a 4:30 gear? im thinking 2800-3g stall.

There is no gear for 4.30s.
You are stuck using the 23 tooth one made for 4.10s.
Do not buy the white gear that's advertised everywhere.
Buy the black gear form mustangs unlimited part no: DFM17271J 01


OR use speedcal to calibrate the speedo. I don't know if it works ok with the 1st gen cars though.

I've read that the 23 tooth speedo gears are more likely to have their teeth strip over time than gears with fewer teeth. Perhaps the speed-cal would be better if you can confirm that it willl work with your car.

This is exactly why you buy the black 23 tooth from the place I listed.
It's the modified version of the typical white 23t gear and is a lot better designed.

And yes speedcal would be a better choice if useable.

i ordered the black speedo chip ahhh and my gears just arrived today sweet deal. now i just have to gather a few odds n ends and im ready to get it built.
