Hi there ...
I am concidering to buy a Mark 8, i dont like the 1997-98 front , i have read about Generation 1-2 here , dont know the difference ,when does it split and what is there to concider between those when buying , plan to install an kompressor.
Is there a gearbox problem , and if so , what to do about it ?
Tipps wellcome.
We dont have many Mark 8:s here in sweden , maybe 10 in the country !
Have found 2 for sale ,one -98 silver colour and one -94 light gold .
Red or tangerine is my favourite colour....
Maybe have to import one from USA....

If your going to supercharge (Kompressor) the mark8 you WILL want to upgrade the trans, 98 or otherwise. If you were going to supercharge it, stick with the gen 1, its more fitting for the gen 1 to be supercharged.

You will like the Gen I's - as long as you can turn a wrench you will have no real problems most problems are due to age.

Gen I are a more aggressive and faster Mark VIII. Improvements were made in the Gen II's the best being the 98's tranny and the HID headlights from 96 to 98.

Make sure you replace the 1 2 accumulator in 93-97 Marks.

Talk to Geno - (ONEBADMK8) and Mike (94m5) on tranny issues when adding a supper charger etc... Geno owns Lincoln Motor Sports, and Mike really knows his $hit when it comes to the Mark VIII (a real pro).

But you will not be disappointed with a Mark VIII.

Watch out for "no heat" issues in the 97-98s. Blend door always breaks.

Ask about the air suspension. If it drops after a while the aibags likley are leaking.
They are easy to chage if yiou know how to turn a wrench>>.>>.:D :D
If the car has been taken care of they are very good cars!!
