Looks like there is some intrest in having a meet in Boscobel in July.

The meet will coninside with the Boscobel Beach Party (No ocean front land sorry). Just some good times with music and fun.

Meet will include a Curise throught the area with stops at some points of intrest.

I have some home space available and a back yard that tents may be put up for camping.

Plus there are local motels including the River Inn which for Boscobel is pretty nice.

Our best is the River INN (http://www.theriverinnboscobel.com/) Use to be a Super 8. Because of weddings and other events this place books up fast. If you are planning on coming for the weekend and not camping (Joey LOL that's if you head west) I would suggest booking a room as soon as you know you are coming.

Our other motel is The Sands Motel (http://www.pauleno.com/sites/sands/motel_features.cfm) it's nice but it's a mom and pop kind of place.

They are filling up with weddings and the beach party (not the LvC part)

So if you want a room better book now.

If you can't make it you would be able to cancel up to 24 hours before the date.

No! there is also a Wedding booked - this place also holds our best banquette hall. So many of the people coming to weddings stay at the River Inn.

Plus there is the Beach Party and we do put on a pretty good city wide party. Concerts in our park most of the day. I'll be getting a schedule of bands shortly. Cost is $10 per person. I'm going to try to see if LvC can get better rates.

I know this isn't Chicago or Las Veges but I'm sure you'll find some fun Joey... Those who want can go to the River Boat Casino (http://www.isleofcapricasino.com/Marquette/) a half hour away. Yes Joey this is about a 30 mile drive but you can get there in about a half hour. LOL... oh and no traffic or tolls LOL... (This could be a Friday Night activity).

I am also setting up a Bonn Fire for those who would rather just relax after their journey and have a few beers or mix drinks and do the usual LvC or Lincoln BS and have fun getting to know the members.

We can also take a tour of the local Boscobel drinking establishments.

Saturday morning I am planning on a typical LvC Coffee and nourishment meeting at the Unique Café. (but Boscobel restaurants are smoke free sorry Joey) If Dave (Jibit) feels the urge I can arrange for a few of our local waitresses to flirt with. LOL...

Heheheh, the hotel has "Theme Rooms"...I think we should leave a little LVC love in Boscobel up and make a new room in the hotel!!! You know how they make the little race car beds for kids....we can get the shell of a Lincoln and a Caddie, slice the tops off and put em in a room!!! The seats and hood can be made into a table and chairs!...I'm lovin it!!!! The trunks can be put upright, making shelves with other parts, door glass will make great bedstands! Hehehe!!!

One of my students this year has a Lincoln bed. His dad went to took the front of a Conti from an area bone yard and built a bed frame out of it.

I haven't seen it but mom told me it was a fun project.

Update on July 15th Beach Party

I met last night (3/15/06) with the committee who is putting on the Beach Party. They like the idea of LvC coming to Boscobel, and want to have LvC at the Party. They are going to arrange to have and area where we can park our cars and for people to come and check them out. I'm going to talk to a couple other car clubs in the area and see if they want to get involved and turn our part into a cruise night with the beach party.

There was talk about blocking off Main Street in the Morning (late morning) so we can line up before we take a cruise of the area. This will look great!

As for camping in my back yard there is no limit to how many! One of the Chamber members said we can use her driveway to park some cars. Lives across the street. SWF LOL.... She'll get along with Debi. LOL....

So what Saturday is looking to be is Breakfast Down Town at the Unique Café'. Then cruise - I'm going to take to a few friends as to a good route that they use for their cruises. (Not that I don't have any ideas, just want to compare). After the cruise we go to the park and listen to the bands and have a few refreshments.

The chamber has offered LvC members half price on entry to the Beach Party. $5.00 per person.

I'm working on more details.

Friday Night plan so far has two plans. Plan one I sit on my front porch with Pepperman drink Killian's and watch as LvC members arrive.

After all pull in we Have a grill out head down town to invade Boscobel, allow Debi as chance stay at our fine recovery establishment (Heather said don't worry about shock therapy but a lobotomy is not out of the question) mabey head Danny's where we will relax with refreshments and a fire, while others may want to venture to an area Gambling establishment.

I have lots of room in my back yard for camping. The city has also given us permission to camp in the city park if you guys decide you'd rather camp there. You can decide that on Friday or Saturday night. My back yard would be nicer in my opinion. Just remember the city attorney is my neighbor and to of our local county deputies live only 1 block away. (Good thing they are friends and one a former student whose parents live next door).

The Southwest Wisconsin Drunk tank is in Boscobel. It is also our local hospital's Psych ward and rehab center. (My wife is one of the Social Workers on the ward).

Anyone wanting to say longer meaning a day or two extra is welcome. Pepps is coming on Thursday nothing says we can't start early. I think Pepps meet will start with at stop at Champs in New Berlin with MonsterMark if he's around. This is if Pepps lands in Milwuakee on Thursday.

Up Date on Beach Party
and LvC Cuise Meet

Yesterday I spoke to a member of the Boscobel community who has put together a few cruises. His cruises entail of a group of people getting together to take a drive in their cars. Last year during the Beach Party his cruise had about 100 cars (but didn't not attend the Beach Party). This year those wanting to will be directed to an area where the cars will be displayed and all involved with the cruise will get discounted 50% on Beach Party tickets. Cars range from Classic Muscle cars to Pick-up-Trucks with modifications. There is no dissemination just car enthusiasts out for a drive.

He said he'd love to put together a cruise for the 14th.

The cruise will entail meeting for Breakfast - Car Cruise down hwy 60 and the Wisconsin River Valley to the Mississippi River Valley - then a twist and turn back to Boscobel - Ruffly 60 to 70 miles - ending at Kronshage Park where the Beach Party will be held and cars will be displayed.

My ex-in-laws use to run a motel in the area. We use to watch people being turned away on weekends in the summer because they didn't have rooms.

Motels in this area have 20 to 30 rooms. Most towns have 1 or 2 motels (these are the bid cities of 3000+ populations). The rest don't have motels and if they do they are dumps (worse than a tent in my back yard).

We would call around to area motels to find rooms for the people that were being turned away. Many times we would have to send these people 50 to 100 miles away from there destination.

On Friday I talked to the guy who will be leading the car cruise. He said that he has to work unitl Noon so the cruise will have to start at 1:00 PM.

This gives us more time to spend at the Unique and for everyone to get ready.

Time to sign up for the meet of the year, lets make this meet a big success. More people need to sign up. :cool:

There is still a lot of Room
in my Back Yard and I mean a lot!!

Right now about 6 members are camping
Jibit, Conti94, Nyssa, Redwingvksm, JD, 94m5.
I have one more tent available for someone who would need to use one,
and I'm sure I could find more if need be.
3 members are in my house Pepperman, brentalan, and MsM8tress.
I have one bunk bed available for someone who wouldn't mind a climb.
2 members have found rooms outside Boscobel. chickenviii found a spot at Napps Motel in Fennimore, and torquemonkey is booked at Fennimore Hills
There may be rooms available in
Prairie Du Chien about 30 min. away for those wanting something more comfortable. Also Richland Center, 30 min. away also, may have some rooms still.
You will need to do a motel search of the area for rooms. Remember Boscobel isn't a large Metro area and the closest city with a pop. over 100,000 is 1.5 hrs away.
one with a pop. over 50,000 is 1 hr away. LOL....



Friday - Meet at the Home of Mespock - those camping in back yard some time to set up tents. Refreshments on the Porch! If Pepperman hasn't finished them all off...

Depending upon when everyone or most everyone get here -

7:00 PM - Suicide Burgers and Refreshments at Da Kikers (about 2 miles from my house)

9:00 PM - Those wanting to check out local establishments head to town (Remember Heather is working this weekend - All unrulies are taken to the local Psych Ward for a nice restful stay and counseling - I'm figuring that Debi will be attending). Those wanting to stay and enjoy the fire and company are welcome to stay.

Saturday

8:00 AM - Local Swimming Pool open for showers and freshening up.

9:00 - 11:30 AM - LvC Member line up cars Main Street Boscobel and Breakfast at the Unique Cafe.

12:00 AM - Gather and organize for Cuirse -

1:00 PM - Car Cruise with other local Classic Muscle Cars and Hot Rods

3:00 PM - Meet back in Boscobel for Car Show and Beach Party

All LvC members and Car Show members $5.00 admission to Beach Part

Car Show and Beach Party 3:00 to Dark

Food and Beverages available at Beach Party.

Too Bad Debi will miss out on most of the fun as she'll be in group session with Heather in the Psych unit LOL...

Wake up at some time - Showers at City Pool.. Breakfast... and the rest is from the hip.

I'm starting to think about Friday the 14th's Night's grill out.

What I am going to supply are the Burgers and Buns - if those coming would like to pick up some side dishes (at our local grocery store or on there to Boscobel that would be appreciated), I'll also have some chips but if anyone wants to help out on that front it would also be much appreciated. As for drinks I would ask that we BYOB (Bring your own Beer - or for those under age BYOP). I'll have coolers and fridge for keeping things cold.

Also I have some chairs but depending upon how many members make it those nice fold up chairs fit real easy in the back of a Lincoln or Caddy.

OK, I'm new to this site, but I love my Lincoln and would love to go to this meet if I can fit it in. The good news is I only live about 4 hrs(?) north so I could swing down for a day easy , maybe for more. I was just wondering what y'all have planned for the weekend. Friday BBQ sounds like a great start!!

Sounds excellent i will be bringing a couple chairs, and I will pick up some goodies for the BBQ. Maybe nyssa will come up with something for the BBQ to.

Aight, my dumb a$$ found the schedule clearly dislayed earlier in this thread. Sorry, I got all excited when I saw that it was in WI and skipped right to the end. I'm gonna pick up my fiance' for lunch and see if she wants to go. Looks like a lot of fun!
