2000 Lincoln LS v8: where do I buy parts?

Hi everyone, Im new to this forum. engine light on, misfiring. Took it to the dealer and my valve cover gaskets need replacing as well as a bad coil (is this the ignition coil or the COP (Is there a difference?), and also the spark plugs because of the oil that leaked onto the engine, which is why I smell something burning sometimes. They tried to tell me 1950 for the work, but I have a friend that can do the work, I just need to order the parts. Where can I go? I have part numbers for the gasket kits, but I need to get the part numbers for the spark plugs (are they sold in sets of 4 or 8?), and how do I know if I need a new ignition coil or COP's? On the printout from the dealer it just said 'coil'. Please help!

Thx

I had this happen last year and the dealer told me the same thing. Go ahead and replace your spark plugs like they said. As for the coil, get your friend to check it out with a voltage meter. The dealer told me I had two that were bad. I believe they were about 150-250 a piece! I took it home and tore it down. I cleaned the coils up and they worked fine... My only mistake was not not doing the driver's side too. Now I have to get back in there... Yeah! Also the only place I've found to get new parts is a dealer.
