the 2nd car looks 10 time better. maybe you want to spend a little more and get one that looks like the 2nd one with less miles.

i wouldn't even consider the first car because your going to spend a ton more to get it looking like the 2nd car.

are you sure the first one is a 2000? The 2000's did not have the V8 on the rear light.

adding a moon roof is usually between $1,300 and $1,800 aftermarket.

Ive never seen an ls without a moonroof i didnt even know that some didnt come with it.

Is it all the v8s that have it then? Im not sure i also have never seen/been around a v6. Or atleast not that i can remember.

I have a V8 w/out a moonroof. You won't spend alot to make the 1st look like the 2nd, the only difference is 17" wheels (not chrome), mudflaps, and no chrome on the fenders.

What is the price of the 1st one? Having a different engine (than it was built with) would worry me a little, is there a warranty or some kind of guarantee that the engine is good and only has 39K miles?

MY 2000 V6 had a sunroof installed by ASC American Sunroof Company.

It looks like some parts are missing from the 1st rebuilt LS, I say this because you can look through the lower grill to the ground in the picture. I cant do that with my car.

If I had to do to it all over again (buy an LS), I would go for the 2nd one - and just remove the dealer pin-striping and black out the side turn signals as soon as it was in my driveway. The previous poster is right, a plastic part is missing from the front of the 1st car and seems a little sketchy.

Start with an offer of $8,500 on the 2nd one and find out if the oil cover gaskets have been replaced. If so, get the paper work on it. That cost of that procedure alone can make up the $8500 to $9700 difference.

i agree with the others. don't even bother with the 1st one. Depending on the size you want, adding a moonroof is about $800-$1300. We had the largest power roof on the market at the time installed in the wife's Honda Pilot for $1200 about 2 years ago.

aside from that, no need to buy something with a rebuilt engine. Why take a chance?

#1 looks like a rebuild of sorts - make sure at least the CARFAX report is clean. CARFAX can be fooled but better than nothin. Beware of flood damaged cars from all the problems this past year. I look at a Mark VIII and a TC that were at an auction in West Virginia - both had minor evidence of water damage.

If possible pull a trunk panel and look at the inside of the rear 1/4s you can sometimes see water marks and such. Even better is to pull a door panel but most places wont let you go that far.

Low mileage is usually a better deal for the money.

Good luck!

Hey mine started out the same way. You won't spend that much money, just depends on what you want. Here's what mine looks like with wheels, grille, and body kit. You could do without the body kit and still have a very nice looking car. Good luck, you'll love your LS

I dont get whta you are trying ot say...

vehicle registration is like 200 bucks
I was thinking of getting it down to 9200.. extra fees should'nt be more than 350

As for the first

Well the engine on the second itsnt a rebuilt.. It was put in the car with 39k already. at that time the car was 68k. so the new engine only has 49k.

i was told a list of what was replaced

New brake pads and rotors at 74,549 miles.
new tires at 69,277 miles.
hydraulic pump at 58,338 miles.
power steering pressure hose at 55,219 miles.

as for the second car...

I am gonna try to run a car fax...

what happened to the original engine on the first one?

that 2nd one is at a dealer, isn't it? They would probably pull up a carfax for you, if you ask. What I've recently gotten into the habit of is making a deal on the car, then saying "ok, we've got a deal and I'll buy it if you can provide me with a clearn carfax on it."

I'd be skeptic as to why the first one has a new engine.

Its hard to sell a car w/ a "new" or different engine because people usually do not believe it unless you show pics and papers on it. I had an '88 z24 and we got it w/out an engine and take the same(slight difference) 2.8L v6 out of a corsica and when I sold the car, the car has 115K+ miles and the engine around upper 80K. The guy who bought it was asking all these questions until my dad who did the work gave him the info.

The second is nice, but that is too high of mileage for me, unless it was just going to be a cruising car and I had something else just in case.

Any ways any more opinions on my selection would be appreciated, your opinions play a big role in my desicion, This forum is def. a big factor to purchasing the right LS.

And thanks everyone so far who has helped me.

The Chrome wheels have to do with the Suspension Package. and the V-6.

I'd stay away from the first one, it looks rough and they obviously dropped a new engine in it. Who knows it could have been a V6 without a moonroof and they ripped the engine out and put a V8 in...then like Frat-man-du says it looks like alot of rebuilds...Go for # 2 --it looks like the sport model.
